Malachi Toney just made some real Miami history. With what he did today, he officially broke the Hurricanes’ record for the most receiving yards by a freshman in a single season. That record used to belong to Ahmmon Richards back in 2016, he piled up 934 receiving yards as a freshman.
All season Toney’s been the guy Miami turns to when they need a big play deep balls, tough catches, and always coming through when things matter even on third down, and heck even when he throws the ball.
Toney currently leads the Hurricanes in receiving yards with 941 yards, seven touchdowns, and 81 receptions.
Toney has been exceptional and has come through in crucial moments since the Notre Dame game in week one. He even made a ridiculous one-handed catch today in the game over Pittsburgh. Check it out:
What an impressive start to Toney's career, also known as Baby Jesus.
