Rousseau came in really skinny as well and he added weight. If he has the athleticism to play DE then let’s bring him in.
I wasnt high on him either coming in for the same reason...He apepeared to have a thin frame. But this kid seems narrow so we shall see. If he is close to 215 right now there isnt a problem...but he is looking more 6'2 -6'3 190-200 i would slow play...we could/should be in on real ELITE edge guys following this draft

He’s a HUGE priority. He’s much higher on our board than any of you are giving him credit for. He’s elite and any other opinion of his game is misinformed. He will be a Cane. 💯
Please tell me what you see because I'm struggling to be excited about him and you aren't the first person to have described him this way. Is this more a potential/tools evaluation?

I'm no expert, but to my eyes he looks too thin in the hips and I don't see much strength/power in his game. Also looks more like a standup edge rusher in a 3-4 than a hand in the dirt WDE.

I’m not telling you what I see. I’m telling you what I’m told. Things change and there’s an organic nature to all of this. As it stands now, he’s a priority and they want him with us.

I get that he's a priority. And if there is any position I trust our coaches to evaluate it's DE. But you mentioned him as an elite prospect and made it seem like that was the consensus on his game. If you know, what are people seeing with him that has them saying he's elite? Not challenging here, just legit asking for my own edification.

Nik Bonita is not tall either and is a premier pass rusher. I would worry more about his athletic ability over size, since we are talking about 2 inches below ideal size. I would still recruit him hard and see what happens with Jones, Kelly and Jackson.

Height isn't the only thing but Ends have to engage with tackles and if your arms aren't long enough you're going to have a tough time when they get to you first. And without height, your leverage is also reduced. You have to really play the position differently. And be really explosive or just a 'tool kit' guy, I guess.

Im not talking about height..im talking about weight and weight potential growth.

Bonito played off the ball some at STA and also ran sub 4.8 in high school...i dont know if this kid is that type of athlete right now

Nik Bonitto is not 6'0/ 6'1 though, he is 6'2 / 6'3. If Anderson's real height is 6'0/1 and does not have the ability to add weight while keeping athleticism, I'd also slow play. Comparing his testing numbers to the other targets will be interesting. It's unlikely we get 2 of Kelly, Jones Jr., Stewart, and Kenyatta Jackson though. **** getting just 1 of those 4 will be challenge. Preferably Anderson is the third DE in our class, not the 2nd. Anderson is Lyons' visit buddy so I'm sure Manny is all in on both of them.

Now on Bonitto....Our staff also underestimated his competitive instincts and his movement skills.... Bonitto grew up playing a lot of AAU ball down here.

How many DEs are moving like this if you put a basketball in their hands? Bend and short area flexibility translates. He prob the only 2018 DE playing SG for a circuit AAU team.

Trivia and comparison question for the old timers....

Who was the last undersized edge rusher we took from Homestead? How does this kid compare to him? The kid I am referring to ended up being pretty productive for us before he left UM too.

Obviously potential is there with this kid, but if he is LISTED at 6’3 205 then that means there is a 99% chance he is atleast an inch shorter and 10 pounds lighter lol. For the people who have seen this kid up close, how big can he truly get? Is the frame there atleast to pack on weight? Good thing is we probably won’t need him to play immediately so he will have time to do so.
No he is 6'4 220 right now that's my lil cuz and he is a beast

I’d rather go with the newly offered DE from Tampa, Mario Eugenio. Bigger, great production, high upside.

Would be a good get to boost the class momentum/rankings. Good player but he's about 5th on my DE list behind Jones, Kelly, Stewart, Jackson. Which is fine bc we have no shot at Stewart or Jones.
