Live Thread Updates: Battle 7v7 - Day 1

QB from Texas getting alot of praise from 247.

Kaidon Salter , Cedar Hill Tx 3 star dual threat
6' 1 181lbs

Lots of juice on his passes. Easily the strongest arm of the day. Taking the WRs a little to adjust to his velocity

EDIT: Visiting campus on Sunday with his 7v7 team

Whats your take on the kid from South Miami that we offered? I believe he was offered as a safety.
Tavoris Miller, solid player, not a take right now.

He's a WR/S athlete type, good speed, but there's lots of other kids I would take ahead of him as of now.

Exactly what i said in the comment section of Stefans article but i like to hear other peoples opinion. Alot of other options out there that are better especially this cycle.

Front runnin lmao
Hey that’s what college football is all about. When we win it all again, we’ll experience the same front running. I mean when the recruiting sites were in their infancy stages we did. I mean how else could we pull DJ Williams? Or Kyle Wright (before he played). Our time is coming again so you can’t knock it. We’ll be front running favorites too...

Off topic, but it’s funny because when I was growing up during our re-emergence from 00-02, it’s like if UM didn’t want you, the player settled for FSU & UF. Then if they didn’t want you OSU & Auburn. LSU & Bama were after thoughts. That’s what I remember from the high school kids when I was in elementary & middle school during that time. Now when we were on probation FSU & UF got more love...

I agree bro. IMO The difference is social media and 7 on 7. Now kids want to post that they are going to alabama, uga, clemson. I liken it to IG models. How many women are now doing lashes, fitness, etc. Follower mentality. Also the kids know each other from across da country. Its a kid from the west coast they saying playing on a 7 on 7 team from Miami??? How easy is it for a kid to say come play with us bro at UGA. They lookin out they gave my momma 50k up front and 50k when i sign. Third thing is these kids came up in the miami heat era. Lebron made it cool to team up with everybody. Jordans era was abt being the best and competition. This era is abt the super team. It has infiltrated high school sports.

I think your third point is more true than people would like to believe

I do agree but more social media then the lebron thing kids can see what other kids are doing and etc you have access to guys on the other side of the country like Jake Garcia and Brantley talking and how Brantley is trying to get him at UM.

100% on the lebron comment. I always tell my homeboys, the lebronazation of athletics has made sports less compelling to me.

Everybody is friends, everyone is a fanboy of everyone else. **** i remember when bron was on the heat he invited durant to train with him in the offseason. That **** is baffling to me.

Maybe Savion Collins, but I'm not sure we keep him either.

Right now it's hard to say, they're al drinking the Gaytorade & like UF a lot, that doesn't mean they're all going there, but Taylor, Marshall & Brashard Smith are big time Gaytor leans. Derrick Edwards is high on FSU right now.

If we win & have a 10-2/11-1 type season we could change their minds & land a few, but as of now we're in a predicament.

I frickin hate that we're well on our way becoming what Rutgers is to NJ talent. We have got to start winning. Those kids will stay home if they believe Miami is a big time program again.

Would you say the same about the MNW kids? I can’t believe last season was such a flop sucks considering the talent that we could’ve pulled. Would’ve been a **** of a class.

win 8-9 games last year and recruiting would’ve been easy

He did that to study his rival when no one else saw it. I’m a MJ fan and he did the same with the Dream Team and the Space Jam court that nba players came to hoop at...

Anyway the op is right. Social media gave this thing more of a life. Players can communicate more frequently and are more accessible than they were 10 years ago. Then everyone wants to flex posting 30 offers. However, it’s a two way street these coaches and institutions create monsters too.
