This zone from the Miami Hurricanes has been killing Boston College today. Udeh has three steals and four blocks off the zone. Boston College can hardly find an answer on the offensive end. Great defensive presence by Miami today.

Miami is, in fact, leading a game at halftime...

The Hurricanes are shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from three while allowing 29.6 percent to the Eagles — but just 20.0 percent from deep.

For UM, it’s all about do-it-all Ernest Udeh, who has seven points (3-4 FG), six rebounds, and four steals in 19 minutes. From there, Tre Donaldson leads the Hurricanes with 11 points, followed by Malik Reneau and Shelton Henderson with six.

For BC, as expected, it’s all about Kapke Boden with 10 points.

Miami has scored six straight points, but it’s still been a very sloppy game. The Hurricanes are struggling to shoot (9-of-22 from the field, 0-of-5 from three), yet their effort has helped them grab the lead as halftime is almost here.

They’ve got to find some rhythm offensively.

Not kidding - Udeh may be our most important player going down the stretch of the season

Has been all year. The drop off from him to any of our other bigs is massive.

Up 17 at half despite missing a ton of FT and going 1-8 from three. Point spread swung 24 points.

 

That end sequence summed up the half nicely

I gave tre a lot of flack this year. But it seems to all be clicking for him at right time. Feels like he has gotten more and more comfortable over last month. He takes this team to a whole new level

The thing about losing Marcus Allen is that he can play the small ball 4 and he was our best perimeter defender alongside Tru. If we had MA then we’d have used a lot more lineup combinations with a Malik—Marcus pairing at the 5-4 when Udeh sits.

Which is more than Miami has in mens basketball the past two seasons.
