Huge fan of this kid's potential. He is going to be a special one. We gotta get a kid from Jacksonville to stick eventually, right?

You're right and hopefully it is Owens.

****, first thing I saw when I got home was the ****** Clark news, but then I'm discovering all kinds of other good news.

I hadn't even heard of this kid yet. Sounds like a great get. Nice to see a kid say something that actually makes sense about the academic side. Clark's comments were laughable.

Welcome to The U.

This is wussup. Nice LB haul so far. Welcome to the :neonu:

This class is solid as ****! Beside Alin, there's isn't a single one of the recruit who isn't focused 100% on UM, that's great!

Why is this kid underrated by the sites if he has offers from all the major programs?

Sites suck and swallow....oh, and they're lazy

PCity dont be a star *****. Have faith in Al. I know you do. If Al wants him and he can play then I'm cool with him. Ray and Ed two explayers who didnt have all the stars and will both be HOF in the NFL.

Maybe because he didn't do the Nike SPARQ camps, Nike training camps, Under Armour camps, rivals camps, etc. That's how a lot of these recruiting analysts rate all these kids. They don't participate, they just go off of hudl or other HLs on youtube since most of the analysts that rate kids only go to camps and not games.

Very interesting. By this reasoning, national camp exposure and subsequent star rankings have created a market inefficiency. Kids who can't or don't camp are underexposed and therefore become undervalued. A coaching staff could clean up by focusing extra resources towards these type of recruits.

Georgia fans on the main board really wanted this kid.

Boston - you're right. There are inefficiencies in every market that can be exploited by the observant. Golden seems to be doing a great job in this area.

This kids hudl highlights are amazing. He closing speed, short are quickness and explosion are down right freaky.... My mouth is still salty from previous recuits from the J-ville area but I hope this one sticks... He looks like a baller!!!!!

Could be the change of positions. UGA has been beasting on defense since they changed DCs, and if they wanted him then that's good for me.

I feel like there are more kids from ohtside SoFla who love the U than from south Florida. I'd love to have a South Florida HS corches convention, and then drop a bomb on that ******.

Butch did....VT's whole resume and existence is based off this....they only recruit the tidewater(757) area hard and that area has a plethora of talent mostly guys who get rated lowly like s.fla kids.

Boise State to a degree also...i remember they asked their coach about if his recruiting picked up etc after winning...dude was liek "our philosophy hasnt changed, we only recruit you if your big and fast, we dont recruit stars"

I'm assuming LB Leroy Owens is his brother...?

I'm just guessing. The team specific recruiting guys actually go to HS games as well as local camps. It's the national recruiting guys for espn, scout, rivals, and 247 that are responsible for the star rankings that mainly go to the combines where these kids get measured/weighed, run 40s, shuttles, verts, and powerball throws. The 7 on 7s are used a lot for evals and rankings too for those guys.
