LB Gavin Nix commits to Miami

The Canes continued their hot streak with the commitment of prized LB Gavin Nix. The 6’, 225-pound Nix is a consensus four-star prospect anf the leader on a loaded IMG defense. He is the 7th player Mario Cristobal has signed from the football factory, joining TE Riley Williams, TE Jaleel Skinner, OT Francis Mauigoa, OG Antonio Tripp, DE Jayden Wayne and EDGE Malik Bryant.

Nix, who some have compared to Jonathan Vilma because of his speed and cerebral nature, chose Miami over FSU and Oregon.

Nix is the 15th commitment in the 2025 class, joining QB Luke Nickel, RB Girard Pringle, TE Brock Schott, TE Luka Gilbert, OT Jaden Wilkerson, OT Demetrius Campbell, OG TK Muex, OG Max Buchanan, DE Herbert Scroggins, LB Elijah Melendez, LB Ezekiel Marcelin, DB Amari Wallace, DB Tim Merritt and CB Chris Ewald.

Would you let your son play on this defense? Would you trust these coaches to develop, and put you in position to succeed? I see a staff that plays the same players regardless of performance and zero development. Nobody knows where tf to lineup. No identity.

Honestly. I wouldn’t let my son play for giudry
