Former Alabama and Kansas transfer guard Rylan Griffin is visiting the Miami Hurricanes, which came as a bit of a surprise. He shared this news on his Instagram story on Tuesday around noon.

Rylan is visiting Coral Gables today along with his teammate, transfer guard Rakease Passmore, who is also from Kansas.

During his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the NCAA tournament, Griffen made a significant impact as they advanced to the Final Four. He contributed 19 points in their Sweet 16 victory against the top-seeded North Carolina and added 13 points in Alabama's Elite Eight win over Clemson.

The 6-foot-6, 190-pound shooting guard played 20.2 minutes on the court each game last season, scoring 6.3 points with a shooting percentage of 37.2% from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc. He also contributed 2.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.3 steals per game.

After finishing high school, Griffen was highly recruited from many top programs like Alabama, Kansas, Georgia, Oregon State, Kansas State, Auburn, NC State, Duke, and many others.

Griffen was rated as a four-star rating and was ranked as the 53rd best player nationwide, as well as the third-best shooting guard in his class. Additionally, he was ranked as the fifth-best player from Texas.

Wouldn't be a big fan of this move. Had a good year in 23-24 but I think he's kind of proven the player he is based off his freshmen and junior years, an average 3 point shooter who doesn't contribute much rebounding, ball handling or defensively. There are better options out there.

He can get a bucket which as shown during this past tournament matters a lot. Won’t be scared to take a shot.

Of course, that comes with the consequences. Interesting career he has had so far. He is one of those highly touted HS prospects so I’d be weary if his attitude wasn’t right.

Overall wouldn’t mind the guy as a bench contributor. Definitely not a must get.

No clue why he left Alabama but a ton of guards struggle in Bill Self’s offense. **** Quentin Grimes lost a lot of money going to KU.
