I will let Al and company figure out who is lying and who is not. If he gets an offer then you will know he was the goods. If not, then he wasnt.

He looks to have enough quickness to be considered a 3-4 DE. He's active, and even when the play is headed towards the sideline, he still flows to the ball, with decent speed for a lineman.

Thing is, at his size 6'5 310, will he play rugged enough within the trenches.

At the end of the day, I can't say this kid is bad looking of a prospect.

Recruiting Talk - If you're all over this and have followed this kids "shenanigans" for the past year why can't you just simplify this by throwing us a link validating what youre saying? I'm not doubting you, because for all I know that was a crock of **** that he told us... but at the same time maybe it wasn't.

It'd b greatly appreciated if you just linked us with some kind of support to your claim. As you can tell, most people here don't believe newcomers who come up in here and blow up an article. Again, I understand what you are trying to do, and if it is true I/we appreciate it. But if it is true you shouldn't have a problem providing us with a link supporting your claim rather than just telling us to look it up ourselves. Help us out....

What kind of link could I give you? Read the articles from several months ago, notice all the talk about the visits he was going to take to all of these BCS schools that had reportedly offered him. Then he doesn't visit one of them? He was going to graduate in December yet he didn't graduate at all? Come on guys what more do you need? Like I said I hope things work out for the kid but he was not recruited by even mid-major schools but he lied and said otherwise. He didn't sign with anyone out of high school, although he claims to have signed with West Virginia.

Oh well, I'm done. Hope it works out.

Dude, you answered your own question.

I wish this kid the best, I hope he gets his offer from the U.

What does this recruitingtalk guy get out of lying though?

Even if recruitingtalk is right, who cares? Sign the dude up, introduce him to Manti Te'o's ex, and let him inspire us all the way to the National Championship game.

What does this recruitingtalk guy get out of lying though?
Who knows. But he just won't provide the links. Thats all anyone is asking for.

Example of what hes doing:
Recruitingtalk's mom is a *****. I've known about her for a while. Read the stuff about her online and you will see I'm telling the truth. I can't provide you those links but they are out there trust me.

I played in JUCO @ Mesa Community college in the late 90's... JUCO isn't any where close to peaches and creme, and this kid's story isn't too far off from what i experienced. There was no scholarship, and all we (players) had was work-study, which was $220 every two weeks. If you happend to land out there and couldnt find a room with other teammates in order to split the rent somewhere, then things can definately be a strain on a kid and his family. My mom didn't have money to cover her mortgage, adn pay my rent, and $440 aint enough when a 1 BR apt is $780; you do the math. In California, the cost of living is even higher.

I was fortunate enough to room with three other players my freshman year in a 2 BR apt, in which we split the rent 4x's. But my second year, after my roomates went on to Universities, it was hard until i did find help with the rent, until the lease was up.

At one time I was homeless, sleeping on other players living room couch, until my girlfriends mom (at the time) took me in, to give me a chance to save money for a studio.

My guess is that this guy Recruitingtalk has no clue, and probably was board with a silverspoon in his mouth, and probably started his company with proceeds from gradma's estate.

I don't know if this kid is homeless or not but here's a link to his twitter photos: https://twitter.com/dcampbell92/media/grid

Guy says he's married, and the wifey sure doesn't look like any of the people I've seen in L.A's skid row.
It's L.A. though so you never know. The old guy I give my change to at a 7-11 in Burbank half the time is either texting or talking on his cell phone.

What company do you work for, RecruitingTalk?

Put your name on the claim your making, which is a pretty big one.

I don't know if this kid is homeless or not but here's a link to his twitter photos: https://twitter.com/dcampbell92/med... easy, but I had to do it to make due myself.

Okay not through water on everyones parade but doing a little math I am coming up with some things that don't add up:

East LA College cost: Instate $46 / class Credit hour
Out of State $196 Non-Resident Fee + $46 Enrollment Fee / Class Credit hour

ELAC Tuition site
http://www.elac.edu/studentservices/studentfees.htm

So at an out of state cost of $236 per credit hour Campbell had an estimated Semester cost for four 3 credit classes of lest say $3000(for easy math) plus another $1000 for books for a total of $4,000 which is covered by his FFA aid package.

So coming from a disadvantaged background there is still alot of Financial Aid available to cover this youngs mans expenses out side of tuition FFA takes into account living expenses as well as tuition.

Those are the programs listed at his school that he could apply for.
http://www.elac.edu/admission/finaid/typeOfFinancial.htm

Based on need he could have applied for Stafford Loans of $4500 (Freshman) & $5500 (Soph) this is addition to his Athletic Scholarship and since he mentioned his family was low income he now also qualifies additional funding in the form of Grants $5550(Fresh) & $5200 (Soph). So this kid some how left $10,000 a year in financial aid on the table uncollected to instead live in a car. Sorry I am calling BS on this one based on the numbers and know the FFA system.

Federal Pell Grant- awarded to qualified undergraduate students, award eligibility is calculated based on a students Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Disbursement of funds is prorated based on enrollment status. As a result of the changes made by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012, the duration of a students eligibility to receive a Federal Pell Grant is now limited to the equivalent of six years.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)*- awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Disbursement of funds is based on enrollment status. Minimum enrollment requirement is half-time status.

Pell Grant Payout limits

Then the is literally 32 pages of scholarships for minorities his school is affiliated with, so your telling me he could qualify for any BULL CRAP this kid could be bothered to apply in 15 minutes I found 4 scholarships on the list that literally give you some money for being black and in college with a passing grade and financial need.

East LA College Scholarships for Minorities & New Americans

If he spent less time on tweeter and more time handling his business looking for scholarships he would be better off. Young man God helps those who help themselves.

Again I wish him good luck in his journey but, don't take advantage of people caring nature when you have placed yourself in a situation purposely.

I feel for this young man but he was waiting for things to be handed to him, when in life you have go and make it happen.

Go Canes!

I don't know this young man's issues, but yours become clearer with every post. I have no idea what he has or hasn't applied for. Why don't you send him all this research to him in a link?

I am not saying that he hasn't struggled, but he did so needlessly when there i money right there. I posted earlier I think he could help some players on the team appreciate what they have been given an I stand by that. But I am also not going to put this guy in the same league as Antonio Dixon or Micheal Orr they where children with no one and no guidance. This is a young man who found his way across country and put himself in the situation, there is a huge difference. He could have attended another Juco in the south that does provide Athletic Scholarships so some degree or better yet an more direct to his situation he could have taken the few hours to apply for some scholarships which if/when he was awarded them would have earned in essence a few thousand dollars for a few hours of work. So if I tell you hey come work with me on a project for lets 5 hours on a sunday and you could potentially make $8000, you be your left nutt you would be there.

This is all am saying that something is not completely on the up and up with his story. An as for sending him my research bro that took me all of 15 mins to put together. Not to mention the deadlines have passed but you probably didn't read any of the links which some clearly state the deadlines. I take it you didn't do well with abstract testing concepts, but this is a thread about a young man pursuing the hopes of being a Cane an I wish him luck with that as should you.

Go Canes!

PS there is nothing wrong with me I am one of the most optimistic people you will ever meet, but I am also a pragmatist.

His school would have handled this for him. It's not hard to do. He's getting aid from the school and one of the first things you do is fill out the Federal Financial Aid form.
After that you pretty much just have to deposit checks.

If this thread is all about him and his chances of becoming a Cane then why did you put on the same hat you use when you go searching for DTs that never end up here? Who put him in the same category as Oher and Dixon? Didn't you bring up Dixon's name as a comparison? If all he is saying is true, are we supposed to have less sympathy for him because he didn't work the system the right way? As you stated its after the fact. It doesn't help him and it doesn't make the story any less impactful if its true.

You saying not to throw water on everyone's parade before you try to do it is like me saying to someone, "I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but you're kind of an idiot."
