For those having the opportunity to watch Wilson play, elaborate on strengths and weaknesses. Why is there not an offer from UM? Thanks...

Weakness: Blowhard father

Exactly. Dudes forget that there's more to building a team than laser-timed 40's and height and weight. Fans fall in love with that ****, but The Don sees something in the total package that he doesn't like.

And that total package can include many variables that fans don't see at these dopey combines. It's why the NFL spends so much looking into backgrounds of college players and interviewing and testing them. The naked eye would have told you Aaronthal Hernandez should have been a 1st round talent, yet he slipped to the 4th for good reason. The Don has access to more intangible info than the fans do. On top of that, the dude isn't a sure fire talent anyway.

I just don't think the staff likes how Wilson moves. Off the field, he is clean and on the field he competes his *** off. No real intangible issue. Gray has character concerns (briefly suspended from the team IIRC) and Mayes's own coach admitted he needed to get tougher. From what I can tell, the staff just likes those guys better as athletes.

Excuse me, but extremely hard to imagine dad hasn't had a discussion with the coaching staff about his son.

Agree. Sounds odd knowing that AG gives easy access to all Ex-Canes. Unless he did not make any effort to contact Al.

If he plays safety and want to play safety..... I'm sure he'd have an offer. This due and Harris are 5 ft nothing and want to play QB. That's just not realistic.

he is taller then russle wilson and just the same height as vick im sure its not all about height its more probability

On one hand, Chad is a Cane and therefore family. On the other hand, Golden has sown a clear affection for all things Cane. It is hard to understand a legacy not getting a fair shake. This case seems strange. Would be nice if it works out. But if the young man wants to be a QB, then THE U is not his school.

I don't purport to know anything about young Wilson's character. I haven't been a huge fan of the words he's said that have been posted here. They don't reflect great character. And I think his old man is a giant pain in the *** that could have ****ed The Don off. Like I said, I don't know all the intangibles with regard to young Wilson but The Don has his reasons.

You're getting Treon Harris and Quincy Wilson confused

CW: "It's a little difficult for me to comment on recruiting mainly because I have a son that's involved in the process. I really have to measure my words. I usually don't reflect much publicly on what the University if Miami is doing.

Lulz, that's rich.

I dont think Quincy Wilson plays as fast as he times. I predict two things will happen with Quincy Wilson:

1. He'll be converted to Safety at the college level.
2. He'll sign with a lower tier SEC school (like Vandy or Tennessee).

A) Golden/staff are lazy and or dumb.

B) There is more to the story, and our coaches are hamstrung in responding due to recruiting rules.

Why stir this pot when anyone remotely close to the program finds A laughable!
I guess it's about controversy and "clicks".

I think that is premature for one to say. Even if that were true I dont think Quincy believes that. Seems like a kid that believes he is going to play wherever he goes.

This right here, end thread.

Quincy has way more option than UF or Vandy and UT. I dont see why they wouldn't want to play together. In today's game there are 5 DB's on the filed they are both going to get minutes regardless. I just see Quincy going to a a major program be it UF USC Ohio State maybe a South Carolina.

Nash - Good interview.

One of the things that caught my attention is that Chad said he has not had any conversation with the UM staff with regards to Quincy's recruitment and that was a mistake.

Did you get a sense if he meant it was a mistake on his part or the UM coaching staff?

Considering Chad played at UM, is Quincy's dad and defensive coordinator, I believe, he should be proactive and ask Golden or someone on the staff what is going on.

No. Chad obviously thinks that Quincy deserves a Miami offer. Which in my opinion, Quincy does deserve an offer, but that's why Golden coaches and I write.
