For some it was more about the lack of courtesy to Miami rather than him actively pushing kids away --- by this I mean -- Kirkland and Thomas were either not interested in Miami or were playing games, and some felt that Ice should have controlled that negative behavior. Then part 2 was BTW crying about the situation to the media when our coaches could not respond.

I agree with those saying it is a stretch to say this hiring proves anything other than Golden felt brining him on board was a good business decision.

Like, Dan, I am curious to see how his role is different this time than his last stint, and if it can be measured to show a positive impact.

Kirkland was going to be a Cane. Thomas had no interest in us.

Ice told Al both these things but Al didn't listen.

So the rumors of Coley coming in. Telling the staff Kirkland was playing both sides. Barrow calling him out on it. ----- That story is false?

Just asking.

I never felt MT6 would be a cane from jump street. Just never got that vibe from him.

I spoke to someone who had direct access to Ice. I never claim to be an insider. I don't bull****. But I feel very confident on this.

Ice said that Kirkland was all Cane. I don't know what Kirkland was telling the FSU coaches, but Ice said he was all Cane.

Ice told Golden this, but Golden got impatient. Our staff also didn't have Kirkland rated as highly as others. So Golden sent Barrow to give Kirkland an ultimatum. The rest is history.

With Thomas, Ice said he never thought Thomas seriously was considering Miami. He told Al this but Al was stubborn and put the full court press on anyway.

Again, I never claim to have inside info, but in this case I do. It's legit.

Believe me or don't believe me, it's the truth.

I have no reason not to believe you. I'm not arguing with you.

If this was the way it was, which I can believe is true, then why did Kirkland not commit, and why the run to the media?

The first part wasn't aimed at you, man. A lot of people around here just tend to doubt "inside info". That's all.

Kirkland wanted to have his "hat moment". Golden did not want to wait, as numbers were tight.

I have nothing personal against Ice, except that his behavior has been sketchy in the past. If he can add to the overall success of this program in his new position, WITHOUT attracting the attention of the NCAA on ANYTHING, then I'm all for this move. I guess we'll see.

If I hear another person say Butch couldn't coach I'm going to lose it. You don't win a Super Bowl as a coordinator without knowing how to coach. His game management issues as a first time coach taking over an animal house on probation were sketchy. But the man knows how to coach football.

Al Golden? Not so much. Great manager, CEO, and recruiter. But his actual football acumen? Not UM level.

Schollies were so tight that we bring in Joe Brown out of nowhere when the bar closes and Kirkland was freshman all SEC...

The "ultimatum" as you call it was something set up by the Kirkland family and the coaches.

I don't know why people forget the clear timeline with the Kirkland thing.

Kirkland or his dad did an interview with rivals after his official visit. Out of nowhere he had a date when he would announce his choice. He and his parents came to a decision. The date to commit was made public and was a full week or so before signing day. We all assumed this was gonna be good thing for UM. When Barrow went to Booker T. on that predetermined date to collect, Kirkland all of sudden wants to push the thing to signing day. Barrow wasn't having it. Being tight on numbers they wanted a firm decision and I assume a public announcement. He called Kirkland on it. Kirkland really wanted his "moment". The staff pulled his scholarship. The rest involves Ice and the local media.

Lol at that "numbers where tight" bull**** gulden spewed....... Dude said that dumb *** **** to save face. People who routinely slurped gulden at the time, even saw through that bull**** eventually. Why should Kirkland have to commit? You wait on Thomas, but you can't wait on his ***? His mother****ing coach, and his parents are telling you he is coming to UM. ***** nothing gut a gulden blunder.....

Just like telling Travis Rudolph 2 different stories about what position he's going to play can't even get the story straight.
Just Ike turning down Sony Michel and his parents when they ask you take his brother but you give a scholarship to some **** *** kid name job-low brown who's best offer was from cokerville.

Just like when Dolan put pressure on Amari Cooper to commit lol.

Trying to jaw ands blue skai Moore and offering him on national signing day, and expect him to ding like Dolan has actually done anything.

****ing coaches off at heritage.

Etc...... Diabeetus gut gulden hasn't done shut really. Why Kepler have such a hard time accepting this, who knows.

I have no clue if numbers really were tight, I'm saying that was Al's justification.

As far as Kirkland and Ice telling everybody he was gonna go to UM, so did Alex Collins. We saw how that turned out

So I read in the herald that Ice plans on finishing college. With his new position he can not coach or got out and recruit. Any idea on when ICE would finish college and would be eligible to join the staff as a coach?

Ice went to college for 3 years at Carthage College in Wisconsin so he can't be that far from a degree.

I believe he went to college for 3 years at Kansas so he can't be that far from a degree.

If he did both summer sessions, couldn't he graduate in time for the season?

I have no idea what his credit situation is like, so I couldn't answer that.
