My main question is why is he interested in Miami? It's a step down from EVP and c-suite of a major sport, even if the sport has declined a bit.

Passion project or weird skeletons in the closet?
Quality of life could be one reason

There's a difference between arguing and insulting. More people will listen to a reasoned argument than a person lashing out with insults.
You do realize the princess insults EVERYBODY who dares disagree with the dissertations put forth. Or God forbid a random post is presented and the author didn't remember a particular fact from 50 years ago.

You literally just made my point about his BS.

And who was responsible for hiring those dudes? And are they still in that position at Miami?
I think that would be a mix of BoT and now Joe E + Rudy F.

Hardly a "who's who" of caucasion all-stars my melanin invested friend.

Feel my flow baby!

I've disagreed with him and he didn't insult me. Maybe it's because I didn't start with an insult.

Maybe not a step down?

But maybe a strategic play on his part?

🤷‍♂️

The idea Miami’s BoT would have a preference for crackas is batsh@t crazy only to those who have any dealings, direct or tangential, with the BoT as a whole or any individual trustee. LOL

Mike Ryan's pointed it out, and I've said for years, that in maximizing revenue it makes no sense that everything is moving in a direction to drive revenue except that Minnesota vs Maryland is a waste of resources, from that perspective.

The biggest albatross these conferences have are the weak teams. Replacing Rutgers, Maryland, and Iowa with Miami, FSU, and North Carolina would probably generate more revenue than any other move the conference could make.

So why are these conferences willing to burn everything down, go to Congress for help, completely wreck the sport but are not willing to remove teams. They destroyed the PAC10 and BIG12. No issues. But this is the line they won't cross? Seems odd to me.

I'm still behind the idea of dissolving the ACC and creating a new conference. Go poach a handful of teams from the BIG10 and SEC. Get a conference of 10-12 teams that are all big ticket schools and run a wildly efficient model that has every Saturday matchup as a must see game. You can take advantage of the fact that these other conferences are burdened by these schools that don't draw eyeballs. If you had a conference that was only (I know there are logistical issues here but it's to prove a point):

Miami
FSU
Clemson
North Carolina
Texas A&M
Florida
Oregon
USC
Texas
Oklahoma

There's not a single matchup during the week that would be poor. That's 4/5 matchups every week (including bye weeks). You can do a Friday game and 3-4 Saturday games (noon, 3:30, and 7:30). It's efficient, it's attractive. It's an outside the box solution that more appropriately aligns with where the sport is going.
Institutional inertia.

PAC and Big got wrecked internally, by internal forces.

Same would happen to B1G and SEC, if there were powerful enough internal forces to do so.

Por examplo, a super league that forms by cherry picking the "elite" from errbody.

I know you are stumping for the princess- but that douche starts the vast majority of his disagreeing responses with an insult. You guys stumping for the princess sound like "the border is secure" crowd from the Brain Dead Biden era.

Maybe this thread isn't for you.

Says the guy who lashes out at every poster who doesn't buy what your attempting to push- you have been the quintessential 15 year old girl on here for quite some time.

You are ridiculous. Let's review the tape.

You came into this thread, which is about a guy who may very well be our next Athletic Director, to predict that he would fail miserably. MULTIPLE people called you on your bull**** and questioned why you said what you said, but you chose to try to put all the focus on me.

You gave two absolutely brain-dead reasons for your idiotic comments. One was a personal attack directed at me. The other one was a race-baiting angle, where this particular candidate is "lilly-white" compared to the ex-FSU-jock.

Then, you engaged in repeated, multi-thread attacks on me, complete with name-calling, implied physical threats, and lots of "quotation marks" around your ***-baiting insults.

And, OK, so be it. I'll go a few rounds with that kind of hand-to-hand combat, just for fun. But you are clearly triggered by people taking issue with your ****porsts. You become very angry, and not just with me. And you accuse other people of being guilty of your sins.

Whatever. You clearly need mental health counseling, but it's up to you to make that call.

I get what you are saying, but creating a league like that will just make someone else Maryland or everyone will be 8-4 or 9-3. As much as we may hate it, you need the conference patsies to fluff up the big dogs. As much as I’d love to join the Big Ten and play Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Indiana every year it’s not sustainable to win 10-12 games a year playing that schedule. Then march through a 24 team CFP, or even a 12 team CFP.

If we’re really trying to go outside the box, create two 24 team super leagues. Or four 12 team leagues. Do a 16 team CFP or 14 with two byes. Have four teams from the lower division, not in the 48 team top division make the playoffs. Then they get promoted to the top division. Bottom four from the top division get relegated to the lower division. If there’s a single American sport that relegation makes sense, it’s CFB.
