Exactly, with Homer, Dallas, and Burns and now Lo and Cam - how blessed is Miami with this talented running back group. I still root for Duke but right now with the Canes, we don't have just LO but CAM as well.

Miami is recruiting top talent at all positions in CMR's third year, but look at these 5 running backs. They all are gifted and bigger and can bring it if they are given the chance. Plus there is a real FB in George leading the way and Gray being tried as well.

With the addition of the new OL's, and continued shaping of all of them by S&C, how much better can the ground attack become, and especially in the short yardage situations also.
I like This group better than any group we have had since the early 2000s, same with receivers

Hate when people do this. “No knock” and then disrespect said player. They are two different type of 5star running backs. Lingard has the size and speed of a potential elite back while duke has the quickness, elusiveness and vision of an elite back. Both are extremely talented

I didn’t diss Lingard but he’s not better than duke was coming out of HS. That’s a **** of a back he’s being compared to

Travis Homer
DJ Dallas
Lorenzo Lingard
Robert Burns
Cam Davis

This group is the most physically gifted depth chart of rbs I’ve ever seen on a roster at the same time and they all have their own style.
Didn’t uga at one point have Gurley, Marshall, Michel, and Chubb on the same roster? Or did Gurley leave before that? Our group is legit but that’s 3 5 ⭐️ backs, a guy that had 100 yards in bout 8 straight games, and 2 were 1st rounders. Our guys are legit for sure but idk bout the most impressive.

Yeah he definitely went over board with that but it is a very talented group and the best we have had since the Portis, mcgahee, gore days

Lo was an amazing recruit and I have no doubt he will have a great future as a Cane. For the 2018 season, Richt will play him and give him opportunities. But Homer and Dallas are no joke at 1 and 2, and we have a healthy Burns sitting at 225 pounds and the second fastest RB on roster after Lingard, per coaches.

One thing is for sure, we have a wrecking crew bowling teams over in the second half and especially the fourth quarter.

If Homer really tears it up and Dallas gets more used to the RB position, is there a chance they try to redshirt Lingard?

Best 100m times from highschool-

Duke Johnson- 10.62
Lingard- 10.71

It amazes me people act like Lingard is some ultra elite speedster.. Lamar Miller ran 10.5 in highschool. The rb Shivers who went to Auburn ran 10.2.... 10.7 is fast, not elite..

Your trolling is epic.

As good as Duke was, Lingard might be a notch above. Trust me, that's not a knock on Duke.
Duke was the main man out this mf as soon as he stepped on scene and that’s no knock on Lingard ..... I think Duke is wayyyy too underrated for what he did and how good he really was ..... Don’t disrespect Duke Johnson name with someone who ain’t never even stepped on a college football field .... No disrespect to you or Lo ...

Not a chance. Lingard is 3 and out so might as well use him this year. He’ll get some PT in each game but I expect more blowouts this year that will allow all the younger guys to get some snaps.

Lo is going to be all over the field on STs. Our STs should finally be back to Miami caliber with the speed and athleticism we've recruited these past couple of classes.

And there is just no way they don't give Lo packages at RB regardless of how good Homer and Dallas (and Burns and Davis) play. Homer is almost certainly leaving early, so it's anyone's job next year. Also, RB is a violent position with lots of injuries. Coaches can reduce the risk of injuries by rotating them and keeping them fresh.

It's not disrespect saying you see a guy with a higher ceiling. Jeez, some people are thin skinned. When Duke signed with us he was 175 lbs, and it was questionable if he was even a 3 down back. He turned out being just that, and he was one of the best RBs to play here. My point is, at the same stage, Lingard has fewer questions. In no way is it a knock on Duke to say a guy that is bigger, stronger, and faster might just be a better prospect AT THE SAME STAGE.

That’s because we didn’t have anyone else outside of mike James. Had Lamar miller stayed his senior year he wouldn’t have been featured as much

If Lamar stayed Duke would've still got carries, and he would've made the most of em. Just like Lo will do this year with DJ/Travis in front of him. Still taking a lot away from Duke to say that Lo is on his level before he plays in his first game.

I didnt Say that, if Lamar stayed his senior year duke wouldn’t have had the year he had period. Lingard is walking in to a much more talented backfield so the opportunities won’t be there like it was for duke

I would think so but at the same time if a kid is projected a 3 and out, you might as well play them. RB don’t stay for 4 years. They have a short life span in the NFL and don’t want any added carries on them as a college RB. Also it gets them to their second NFL contract quicker. So all in all...I doubt Lo redshirts. He may only get 5-10 carries a game but he can also play special teams.
