Four-star SG signee Matthew Able has requested a release from the University of Miami and will reopen his recruitment.

The 6'5 195-pound Able ranks as the No. 26 player in the nation and the No. 6 shooting guard in the class of 2025.

Multiple teams recruiting are recruiting Able following the retirement of Coach Larranaga, including Tennessee, Alabama, Baylor, and many others.

With Able and C Ben Ahmed no longer part of the 2025 class, the Canes currently have no commits or signees. New Miami head coach Jai Lucas will need to start from scratch in rebuilding the roster.

If we want to win next year, get highly ranked transfer kids. Also I don’t understand why this kid is rated so highly.

Board peacocking says yes. Maybe the kid isn’t impressed with the hire, leak, rumor, etc
Kid had a relationship with the previous staff. I doubt who we hired would have mattered

Yeah, let's keep up on the negativity regarding how bad the new HC hire is. Really making great things happen.
