Four-star DL Kendall Jackson commits to Miami

Miami added to their defensive line class on Saturday afternoon with the pickup up four-star DL Kendall Jackson.

Jackson was committed to Florida as recently as two weeks ago and is from Buchholz HS in Gainesville. Listed at 6-4, 250 Jackson projects as a player who can fill multiple spots across the line of scrimmage.

The only way this makes sense is if we are bringing in 2 portal DTs. Cook and Clark. And we don’t have room for 5 DTs as HS recruits. That would be 7 DTs in one class which I admit is overkill. Other than that, this makes no sense. Look I know we can’t burn bridges with Columbus High but the love affair with Russell better pay off. This better not be another Allen Haye situation.

So we stopped treating him like a priority?

If Blount takes his spot that’s fine, but to me that signals they feel good about additional portal guys…because I don’t see a problem with both guys in the current class as it stands. We need DTs and athletic pass rushers.

Staff better be right on Russell @DMoney. That’s all I’ll say. They won’t get a pass on that if he’s a flop. We can’t afford misses at DT right now. KJackson was a big time get right? Or are we overrating him on the board? Thanks in advance.

I think kid never had the green light, and when he announced staff made it seem legit so as not to embarrass him.

Not sure the staff even accepted his commitment. Something just seems off, unless we have much higher guys locked in.

As I said a couple weeks ago spots were VERY tight. I was told when he committed he might be on the outside looking in and I didn’t believe it.

Actually from what I remember they pivoted to him after Scott committed to Ohio state. Probably looked again when Blount flipped but with Blount trending back needed the spot.
