Hes going up against the top RB in the nation everyday. He’ll be fine

The over emphasis on measurables here reminds of AL Golden. Al would constantly complain about the schollys and the lack of depth and then recruit raw project players who fit his nfl measurables in place of players who were ready to play their freshman year when we needed the immediate help. Al reportedly thought about dropping Denzel Perryman and wouldn't offer Skai Moore and I'm sure there are plenty of other examples out there. Instead, he always went after players that he believed he could develop into NFL players, and even when he hit with a Michael Jackson type player they were still guys that didn't contribute for their first couple of years here.

When you have a position of need like we do at LB this cycle, it makes sense to take a couple football players who may not develop into early round draft picks, but also won't need three years to see the field.

Keeps his head up going through tackles and wraps up..love it! As for the time...I remember Rocky McIntosh coming in at 4.75 and as a senior he ran a 4.4 before injury end of season...4.9 & technique training - he'll get faster
WELCOME TO THE U

Absolutely love the take! 144 tackles in the largest and one of the most competitive classifications in Texas is outstanding. His game speed is actually quite good for a MLB of his stature, and it’s especially evident when you see him blowing up and racing through gaps for TFLs.

I can definitely see the comps to Shaq and I would agree with what someone else said about Flagg having better coverage skills than him at this point in high school - just look at him at safety in spring film.

Cerebral and just knows where the ball is going all the time. I’ll take a leader and key playmaker on an elite HS team from Texas all day idk about y’all...

Flagg says he intends to honor that and stop taking visits to other schools.

“I’m shutting it down,” Flagg said of his recruitment. “I’m not going anywhere.”

I wish the S.Fla diva's would learn what the word " commit" means.Seems like the out of state kids are the ones that are more likely to stop galivanting around the countryside than the kids that are supposed to be all Miami and grew up 2-3 blocks from the school.

Welcome to the U young buck.

Dam he had 144 tkls last year! He was balling balling 😳! That was a good find by the coaching staff! If they can develop this kid, he can be special! Like his film too!
He’s gonna be a “Hit man” on the team when fit and ready to start. Just watch him.

People on this site constantly riding Shaq for being "too slow" then we take a MLB that runs a 4.92 and the standard excuses come out:
- "short area burst is more important"
- "tell me he looks like 4.92 on film"
- "he plays faster than his 40"
- "Zach Thomas ran a slow 40"
It's humorous. Watch the site turn on this kid in couple of years for being too slow, like the signs weren't there day 1

40 times don’t always tell the whole story. 40’s are technique as much as pure speed. There is a reason college players get specialized training for months just for testing at the combine. Also the kid hasn’t seen a college strength program. Do you think he will never get better? He tapped out at 17yrs old? haha. Some of you all get waaaaay too caught up in high school testing numbers.
There's no way a kid has 144 tackles and 33 TFL without having quickness. He doesn't need to rundown RB's 40 yards down the field, he needs to stop them at the line of scrimmage.

I would love to see his 10 yard split. I bet he's as fast as any RB in the 1st 10 yards. At the NFL combine, you'll see great LBs and DLs with 10 yard splits equal to RBs. That's where the game is played for LBs and DLs.

I wouldn't doubt if he's at 4.7 by next year. Just needs technique and improved strength.

I like his film. He has very quick feet and is decisive in his movements. O-Lineman can't get to the 2nd level on him. He takes great angles to the ball, has the quickness to close, and plays with good leverage on his tackles.

I definitely see why the coaches like him. Looks the part of a Miami LB.

If this kid is Shaq, that’s a home run.

Agree and I am doubting that will be the case. My point was that people on this site constantly rip on Shaq's speed and this guy isn't likely to even be close to his caliber. Yet, everyone is pumping sunshine.

The tfl and tfl was more impressive imo. He’s a really good football player
