Obviously I'm sure you got the above info from your legit sources inside the program, but wonder why that person(s) perspective is so different relative to D$'s video earlier today specifically mentioning that everything he is hearing around the program is that DJ is still in play as our top 1-3 priority?

Regardless, he would be a cherry on top of an already crazy class and not necessary, just thought the differing POV's were interesting.
Nah. Just my opinion when it relates to this year. It's one thing to continue pursuing and justify the expense that has already gone into him. It's another to get it done. We've been in a great spot with him and much further. But in my opinion it'll be tough to actually get that done. The funds are there. But next season is gonna be much like this one. Another loaded class. I just expected us not to be able to continue spending at this rate for this class. However he is VERY special. If you can somehow still get that done it'll be amazing to see.

Not sure. Most of my football knowledge comes from a former Penn State LBer named Mark Donofrio and he told me the key to safety play is simple- can he play safety?

We recruited both him and his older brother as DBs and they both played linebacker in college lmao

Agree with you on all of that. It’s tough when he was supposed to pick us and 11th hour he picks OSU before we even play our game and then we go out and beat them. Without knowing the kid personally at all, just reading between the lines tells me that his dad is playing an outsized role in his recruitment to drive up the price but in his heart of hearts he wants to be here, and if that’s the case, Mario will find a way to get it done. Total speculation on my part though.

If we’re able to do in 2028 what we think we can and get anywhere near what we’re doing for 2027… it’s gonna be a scary few years for CFB.

There were 3 recruits in the past 20 years that spurned Miami that made it obvious that we had fallen on hard times

1. Patrick Peterson
2. Amari Cooper
3. Jeremiah Smith

#1 and #2 saw where we were program-wise and made a business decision. Can’t blame them too much- it’s doubtful they would have made an impact in the W/L column given the coaching staffs at the time.

As for Smith- transcendent talent but he seems to like trolling Miami so f#ck him.

imo landing Sears makes up for #1, 2, and 3.
Dalvin is somewhere on that list.. That was major, he had other 5 stars willing and able to go where ever to play with him lol
