One of Miami's biggest recruiting targets in the 2027 class will be making his decision this week.
Five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews announced on his Twitter that he will announce his college decision this Friday on May 15th.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, he is currently projected to land at Texas A&M with a 95.4% chance to land with the Aggies. Mike Elko had him on campus on March 20th and has done a good job putting them in the lead, according to On3. 247Sports also put in a Crystal Ball for Mark Matthews to land at A&M.
He is set to choose between four finalist: Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, and Georgia.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Matthew is currently ranked as the No. 5 player in the nation, No. 1 offensive tackle, and the No. 1 player out of Florida.
He recently played in the Under Armour All-America Game as an upcoming senior. This past season, he was the main anchor for the St. Thomas Aquinas offensive line, helping lead the team to another Sunshine State 5A championship.
If Mark Matthews picks Miami, it adds another checkmark for the Hurricanes class. It would give Mario Cristobal's program four five-star recruits, which will headline the class with another offensive lineman, and continue the momentum seen with Jackson Cantwell last year.
Commitment date is set. According to On3 the Aggies hold the edge, so let's see how this unfolds. Check out his film below while we wait.
