The quarterbacks were working on an option play today. They were lined up next to a running back out of the shotgun with a tight end on the line. At the snap, the quarterback and running back would run left, and the tight end would follow them across the formation. Based on the defender the quarterback could run, toss it to the running back, or shovel pass to the tight end.

You see this ran across the country near the goal line for what seems like an automatic 6 points. Nice to finally be joining the 21st century.

Wouldn't be surprised if Enos has this variation below as well:

What we cannot afford is to have a guy with poor awareness who takes bad sacks and doesn't take care of the football. It doesn't matter how pretty the throws are for two passes a game.

To quote Tiger Woods in his prime "par is the key to winning championships."

Oh you mean the summary that through no fault of the writer talks about 30 minutes of the practice and covers very little if any of 11 on 11 football? Well Jarren looked good in the t-shirt and shorts part of the practice.
sorry bruv. 1hurricanes is correct here and that makes you the big loser. 0 sum game here on CIS.

Enos and Barry seem to think it is a situation where they can either put Donaldson, Gaynor, and Scaife inside and have a potentially strong interior line while taking their chances on the edge, compared to keeping Scaife out on a tackle spot and having the interior be a potential weakness along with another tackle spot. It's a pick your poison type of situation and they seem set on making sure the interior is strong and they will scheme up ways to aid the tackles in pass protection.

It does make sense in a way. If Gaynor is what we think he can be, then having him with Donaldson on his left and Scaife on his right could open up some things in the run game we've been missing. It could make the running game a bit more consistent and less boom and bust. It also should minimize any immediate pressure up the middle on passing situations. Having weak tackles is not idea, but it is something you can work with a bit more than having your interior line be swiss cheese where the pressure is instantaneous at times and hard to avoid.

great post. just to piggyback on this. watch any qb make a pass attempt with bad interior lineman and you will see how difficult it is. qb's like to step up to avoid pressure, but you cant do that with a DT in your face. you can do that, with a DE coming off the edge though.

I really hope they stick with this week as the cut off. If they're all even just have Enos pick his guy and ride.

Agreed. Don't drag this on much longer. Pick your guy and ride with it. We need to finish installing sets for 8/24 which means giving QB1 the majority of the reps with the 1s.

Jarren is the most polished, Perry has the best arm and Tate is the most dynamic. That won't change any time soon.

Pick your guy and let's gear up for 8/24. Let's go.

As a Redskins fan, I know how hard it is to work with a weak interior line. We've had Williams manning that LT spot for years now, but have had a weak interior line making it hard to run with any consistency and the pressure they allow makes passing a pain.
