When you bring in 4 WRs in 1 class, whoever is 4th on the depth chart when the dust settles is almost always gone.

You either don't know how this game works or you're incredibly naive if you felt that all 4 of Pope, Hightower, Wiggins, and Ezzard would all graduate from UM. There was virtually no chance of that.

He strikes me as someone who wanted to go back home.

GT perhaps?

I think this will be the route as well, provided he can get in school there.

Also, I've been laughed at incessantly about my concern RE: Georgia Tech. I hate to use the words "sleeping giant", because that may be a little dramatic. They still have VERY real academic requirements, and the place will never turn into a true football factory simply for that reason.

But it cannot be overstated how much CPJ was holding that program back the last decade. Georgia is LOADED with elite athletes. And virtually all of the really good ones go to UGA...however a lot of that had to do with the offense CPJ ran.

Hiring Collins was an excellent move, and he's really assembled a very formidable staff. Now that they've joined the 21st century, expect a quick influx of talent on the offensive side of the ball. It may take a year or 2, but they're going to be a force in the Coastal going forward. CPJ leaving was a very bad thing for the rest of the division, and the best thing GT has done in a decade.

They could, its possible. A lot of smart kids want to go to GT. Their football grads usually have great jobs if they don't make the league. That's appealing to a lot of young smart Black young men. It would have appealed to me. Honestly, if I was a recruit, even if Miami is my squad, I would love Stanford, Vandy, Duke or GT. Just my opinion. I want six figures if football doesnt workout. Get a smart wife as well, 200-300k combined is tremendous.

That's what I would choose. That said, everyone is different. Some guys choose on education, location and their sport. Miami will always stand out for those types.

Very much agreed, and now you actually get to play in an offense that might showcase your skills as a QB, WR, TE, or NFL OL.

I'm not saying they're going to immediately be on par recruiting with UGA. But a TON of kids who can get into GT go elsewhere because they don't want to play in CPJ's offense, or they're not even recruited by GT. UGA can't take em all. There's way too many elite athletes in that state. Expect them to be formidable pretty **** quick. They made a good hire and that good hire has made good hires.

I believe he just lost a close friend or family member and it could be playing a factor

Dumb decision if it's just for PT. Thomas and KJ are 1 and done. He'd get some burn this year, if not start (clean slates) and would be right up there to start as a junior with Pope and Hightower. He'll sit a year just to end up with the same chance to start somewhere else? Eh

If he just doesn't like it and it's for a change of scenery good luck kid.

corrected my post. I think he should stay.

Go Canes

They used to get those kids too. Like Calvin Johnson for example. Now those kids go to ND or Stanford. Stanford has a pipeline in Gwinnett County

Crowded wr room maybe but to say “oh well, we are loaded” is beyond simple talk. Not one of those guys have proven anything on the college level besides Osborn.

Stack talent and see who develops.....

JT4 would like a word.

Also, Ezzard was clearly atthe bottom of the depth chart based on playing time last year. This transfer portal is going to become a regular thing in college football. Let's all get used to it.

Get used to this. If a sophomore doesn’t get much playing time and are getting recruited over, more and more will bolt rather than compete. It’s dumb if they are as good as the other players, but who can blame them if they know they aren’t as good and want to play.
I agree, but the opportunity to compete and play are always available.kid has to believe he can, if not than he can take his business somewhere he will play from the get go. May not win a NC, or go to the league, but some guys more realistic about their chances and want to play college ball and get a degree.

I completely agree with you on this.

Silver lining: Miami will benefit from a more competitive Coastal and a better ACC in all his parts and if it means a good GT, a good VT, a good Louisville and a good UNC so be it.

Since he redshirted this year only playing in 3 games, he will be eligible immediately wherever he transfers to. Although I think he should stay.
No. Redshirting has nothing to do with a transfers immediate eligibility.

I was hoping they could convince him to move to Safety. He was extremely talented on both sides of the ball.

@Stefan Adams is the staff pushing for him to stay?
