Elijah Arroyo: We’re just playing confident

During Saturday’s broadcast, Former NFL executive Louis Riddick called Elijah Arroyo a potential first rounder. Arroyo met with reporters to discuss his progress and the Virginia Tech game:

On his preparation: We’re working together – us, the coaches, the quarterback, everybody's working together – to do what's best for our offense. My body feels good. I'm ready for this week, ready for Friday.

On the running game: It's been a big emphasis this week to really pay attention to our details on the run game. We’re coming into ACC play, and Virginia Tech is a good team. We’ve gotta be on our P's and Q's if we want to execute the way we want to.

On how to balance celebrating without being penalized: We're just playing confident. That's how we played all spring. That's how we played all fall camp. We're going to keep doing what we're doing as long as we keep it somewhat disciplined. Not getting any flags or anything dumb after the play. But, yeah, we're going to continue to keep doing what we're doing.

Glad to have Arroyo back and healthy. Look forward to him staying healthy and having a big year. Keep working hard and Enjoy the results. Looks like the next big name for tight end U. GO CANES !!!!!!!

In my opinion, he should have at least 40 receptions.

He was ignored for a good 3-4 game stretch by the coach and/or QB, not to mention times he’s been open (Georgia Tech game comes to mind).

Severely under used but when I brought it up some these dudes was saying ok but we got the #1 offense bro it doesn’t matter

Gotta be rough playing us holding X and Horton to 63 yards and just watching George and Arroyo eat you up instead
Not to mention 3rd string RB Lyle getting 100+ on so few carries as well.

This offense has so many weapons. Defenses can't really afford to try and take one person out of the game by giving them extra attention.

His stats will only get better now that he and Cam are in a rhythm. He will shoot up the draft boards I predict over the next few games. Wish Cam would stop having him to a complete 180 to catch his passes over the middle though. Hit him in stride!
