Is this from the same people that said Jobe wasn't/isn't going to OV to Bama.

***Does not intend for this thread to go in that direction***

Why would a kid from the SeaTac area not consider any PAC12 schools?

Seems kinda strange.

Yup. And we’re still getting the usual fools on here with “ it’s early bro “ and “ I trust this staff” etc.

We haven’t hit a top DT class in ages.

It’s the only part of Butch’s philosophy that Richt needs to emulate.

Get the money bags out and haul in the top level DTs or we’ll never be all the way back.

Seems extremely peculiar how given the current situation at Miami having the #1DL coach in the nation, running an aggressive downhill style of defense where the DTs are asked to disrupt and make big plays behind the LOS and being a program that is clearly on the rise having won 10 games for the first time since 03 with a shot at 11 in the Orange Bowl. We have Norton and McIntosh who are possibly leaving early but are here one more year max.

Considering all of the above factors, we should have DTs busting down our door trying to get in. I don't get it. I'm sure we will end up with 3 excellent prospects but it seems that it should be much easier that what it seems to be currently. Anyone have a theory on this?

Perhaps Kool's just not a good recruiter in the sense that he's not a salesman. He could be the type of guy that's just quiet and just prefers to sell his resume - which is a rather impressive one. That's the only thing I could think of right now.

It seems like Kool likes projects or small target recruits. It's all he's known having only coached at Toledo and Mizzou. Maybe he'd rather take a low maintenance personality with a high motor and good measurables over someone who many think is close to a finished product.

DJ Johnson and Joe Jackson were the most regarded recruits he's gotten and both had a fairly quiet recruiting process. I know there was some talk of Nesta taking visits but I think that was just a product of people freaking out over nothing. Not a lot of drama amongst DL recruits.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I have no worries about what the DL will look like next year. Neither should you.

Y’all worry about dt recruting too much. Kool develops his guys regardless. Results speak for itself and he has arguably the best dt in the country committed right now... y’all got to get out of this fantasy of landing 3 elite dt recruits in a class. It’s not going to happen. Maybe you can get 2 but that’s about it.

Kool got multiple 5 stars at mizzou (terry Beckner, Sheldon Richardson)

I would assume that higher ranking DTs aren't as easy to work with considering they think they don't don't need as much coaching. Coach Kool probably finds more coachable humble players in the sleeper, lower ranked projectables.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only guys Kool "is on the hook for" as for his evaluations are Garvin, DJ (even thought DJJ contacted Miami) and Ford. Soon to be added to that list - Nesta.
