everybody knew that the 2018 DT class was weak, they managed to only take one last year. That's a bigger issue than missing on this year.

How the fu&& should we have taken more? Did you forget what our depth chart looked like at dt in February? No dt stud in America would have wanted to come up with Norton and mcintosh as only JUNIORS. Plus the logjam behind them.

Kul has offered a ton of DTs the last two years and they all tell him to get lost for some reason.

Gotta get Thompson from missouri

This is truth. We tried to land more guys.

People aren't hating on kul as a coach , it's him constantly being told to f his own face by Dt's that's concerning , especially with his resume.

Exactly. Cause those DTs knew they weren't gonna play with all the studs we already had. Our dt chart is loaded. Every single kid is a potential prospect with kul coaching them up.

Yeah, People got to chill. Only miami fans can find a way to complain about a coach who has the best track record of developing dlineman for **** near the last decade. These folks are silly

Ford will play NT
Willis will be our 3T

Bethel is the first one off the bench. After that it gets ****ty/unproven/young. Which is why although Goldwire isn’t Mount Cody, he would have brought tremendous size and atleast some experience and would have not forced a true freshman like Silvera into action. Silvera is likely our 4th DT right now, which is scary.

I wouldn't count on Willis like that. Silvera will get snaps regardless. Ford and Bethel need to step it up big time.

Well, if we can’t count on the most talented DT we will have in 2018 then f*** me.

Not talking about his talent. Guy's been in and out of trouble at UF and Miami.

Rj was the 780th rated prospect in 2015.
Norton was the 360th rated prospect in 2015.

Both 3 stars, both totally dismissed by the typical over emotional whining womanly fans on this site.

Now, they are legit nfl prospects as TRUE JUNIORS, the best duo in the country.

These same shortsighted over emotional star whoring fans have now discounted Fines and Martin. Stupidity repeats itself over and over I guess.

Norton and McIntosh were very highly thought of on this board when they committed back in 2015. Not sure where you got the idea that they weren't as you've only been on CIS since April. https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/canes/80310?highlight=mcintosh

If they commit to us they get hyped up. The Turner kid that ended up at Toledo, Davlin Cook cousin that ended up FAU or somewhere,The Phillips kid etc, they were committed to us for awhile and people saw there amazing potential. After they decommitted they sucked or were not power 5 talent.

I know you were referring to his off the field stuff. I was just putting emphasis that we are even more ****ed at DT if we don’t have him next year.

I think you're in for a surprise if you expect the same production next year without the services of McIntosh, Norton, Thomas, Harris, Moten.

Of course there will be a drop. But no godforsaken human in the world could take the loss of 5 nfl prospects, including 2 true juniors, at dl and NOT have a drop off. Why people want to scapegoat Kul for this is unfathomable.

Even the Gawd Saban took a big hit when he lost his entire startin lb unit. Shi$ happens, it's football ffs.

Bullshît. Aint stopping guys from going to clemson, fsu, osu, bama, and lsu every year.

Uhhhh....I remember a lot of people were very content on landing Norton during his recruiting cycle. I don't remember a lot of people knocking RJ McIntosh. Try harder.

You weren't here when people were crying about taking a leftover like Norton that UF and FSU didn't want. You weren't around when folks were crying about settling for an undersized project almost 2 star kid like RJ.

You weren’t here either. You joined in April 2017.

Should have done us all a favor and not jointed at all

Willis (Sr.)- proven to be unreliable
Bethel (Jr.) - solid depth guy at this point
Ford (So.) - unproven
Martin - has yet to take a snap

Given where Miami is at now as a program and the aspirations, this is a terrible situation. We are low on numbers and proven talent at a position where you need to stack bodies as the attrition and bust rates are high. And unless there is a strong finish to this class, the 2019 DT class will be relied upon to produce early also.

Huh? You can respect Kul's coaching skills without subscribing to the fallacy that we are loaded at D.

So let me get this straight...kid's aren't coming to play for Kul because he is going to get the kids in front of them to the NFL?

How does he ever get a kid to come to play for him then? That's just an awful statement.

This thread really points out the delusional ones as it relates to our potential lack of depth at DT. Sliding D-Jackson (265 lbs) and DJ Johnson (who's likely around 270). Those guys are suitable at D-end.

This is going to end up being one of those I told you so moments.

You said that before the season when I maintained that djack could slide inside and look what happened he got multiple sacks and tfls doing so and didn’t look out of position in doing so

He has 3.5 sacks on the year. And I remember some of them coming when he was at DE.

Demetrius Jackson Stats, News, Videos, Pictures, Bio - Miami Hurricanes - ESPN

Just because he sparingly is good to go there, doesn't mean he should be a long-term viable option through a season.

And if there's one thing CIS posters love more than Miami winning, it's the I told you so moments.

You guys must have miserable lives

This makes no sense.

I want Miami to do better in DT recruiting. Some of you simps are acting like we're fine at DT depth.

I say otherwise. And pretty soon, you'll see Pete release something relating to DT where it says that the staff's not satisfied with what they have.

No one's complaining about Kool's coaching. Everyone knows he can coach.

But you can't just put anyone there and expect Kool to turn them into an all-american. He needs quality recruits (in terms of measurables and potential). That's the thing. How are you not grasping this simple concept?

Kind of goes against that whole "Our DT depth is loaded, that's why we're having problems".

Uh.....no, it's not.

He was leading the team in sacks and tfls with 7.5 before he got hurt...
