I wouldn't be all that surprised if Al Groh wound up here. However, I would be more excited for a young and hungry up and comer, like Fisch.

Why

Because its a scheme Golden believes in and ran himself for the last 11 years (7 as a HC, 4 as a DC). He's turned around 2 defenses running it.

If he does leave who could possibly replace him? Golden brought back Kehoe, any chance Butch or Shannon would be brought back?

Eh, with the state of our defense, I wouldn't mind a more proven coach. A mix of youth and experience can be a good thing on the coaching staff.

So what happens if the new guy runs the same exact defense?

We need to return to 4-3 defense formation although Golden favors 3-4 defense formation.

Am I right that many high schools in Florida run 4-3 format?

Does anyone actually expect D'O to get hired? This looks to me more like an audition - a practice round, if you will.

Al Groh?! No way!

Look at what he did to Georgia Tech defense this year. They were full of crap.

When did we switch to 3-4? I must have missed that.

No I don't.

But just banging my head against the wall at about 75% of the posts in this thread.

Can I be the first to say it? Randy Shannon has success here as a DC....:rollcanes:
Couldn't agree more. He was the brains behind the 2001 defense. But then again, a 7 year old school girl could have led that team to greatness.

Saw somebody mention Tyrone Nix...yes please, yes. We'd knock some mother****ers out loved his Defense at South Carolina.

Wasn't he offered the job when Golden left without an interview?
