No doubts bro... you nailed it.

and the best Portal transfer impact coach in all of CFB to get the most outa portals??

Manny.

Portal guys can all see how much their stock can jump coming to Miami too...

we keep recruiting like **** while FSU is down and fill short term needs with Portals.

Manny is ahead of the curve with where CFB has been headed while old guys like Saban and Dabo will begin a slow fade to retirement.

Every capable coach deserves 5 years.

Manny has shown he has the capability to learn from mistakes and make improvements. He deserves 5

I might play a mope on some posts just to rile **** up for the fun...

But I believe Manny is going to win an NC at Miami before he’s done— regardless of what happens this covid-infested year.

And then he’s going to HC the Dolphins for the second half of his career.

Book it.
You don't play mope or slurper. You're a troll, and a bad one.

Hol’ up....

So Diaz says he like the QBs we have on campus, YET, he went through the transfer portal this season, and says, “if necessary”, will use the portal again to “make the team better.”
Make that make sense? Lol.

First off, not having a QB or CB in this class in the month of November absolutely is ?able. We trying to get better for the long run. Can’t keep relying on these band aids.
I agree with you cb's because we need more 1, and not to have any is inexcusable! But qb all we need is 1 would love to have one by now but we still have 3months to pluck somebody.

I agree with with him....

Phillips is displaying his playmaking through multiple years/games...

Rousseau is betting on his "flash" from last season....

Pro Scouts will be nervous about a kid who quit it early because his physical and playmaking development has taken a pause....

They will need to decide between the guy who's doing it every weekend on the field vs. a guy who flashed for part of a sh*t season in 2019.

I would take the guy who's proving his ongoing worth on the field --higher statistical bet.
Multiple years? This is his first time playing in more then 4games since high school! Gr15 didnt really play game 5,6 or 7 and ended up 15.5 sacks phillios has played in 7 games and does he even have 5 sacks? Stat people help me out!!

Trust me; I know bags r involved. I’ve told everyone on here what transpired w my lil relative & his recruitment process to Auburn. However, being that I f’s w u, imma keep it 1000: Every college team plays the bag game, whether it’s creatively or overtly b/c of leniency from the NCAA. Bags r not my issues....my issue has been for a while our evaluation, and player development. We are churning out top 15 classes every single yr, some yrs hitting top 10....yet we get smoked by the likes of VT, UNC, and struggle w a host of others. Everybody & their mama is a striker, dog. Lol.

I’m not a star *****, never have been; but when I see @gogeta4 @Liberty City El @Coach Macho @Zbrod95 bringing up guys, high school guys, that we should be looking at, many r not “blue chips”, and we pass on them, just to see them do well at other schools, it frustrates the absolute Fck outta me.

The portal has been a lipstick on a pig. King was good, Tate was bad. Colbert was good, Delaney was bad. Willis was good, Nnoruka was bad. Top programs look for the portal as a stop gap, not a solution; they look to recruiting as a solution. The landscape of CFB haven’t changed that much. Bags have always been there, will always be there. Fake classes always there. Kids still go to schools where they produce NFL players IN HIGHER ROUNDS, and that win consistently. SMU probably got bigger bags than most schools in America b/c of that Texas Gold money....that means chit. UT Austin got long money, and before Herman got there, kids flew the coupe, and are starting to fly again. This fan base puts too much emphasis on bags as a deflection to the Tom ***ery that’s been going on around here. HENCE, kids are leaving ill advised, we have 0 QB committed, & 0 CBs committed. But oh wait; there’s always the portal.
Hey relly, agree 100% but we still have 3months! Not ideal i don't like da scrambling last minute either but as long as there is time b4 signing day (feb) then we have to give them (coaches) that time even though us fans want it done right now!!

JP's 3rd year playing and 4 year in CFB --- and started as a true Fresh... yes he had injury seasons but he's been at the CFB level since Spring 2017.

You can grow and learn a lot in 4 years-- meaning the close of this season becomes #4.

Jordan: A high success 4year TE would get playing time Day 1 in the NFL most likely....

Rousseau: A 2yr DE who bounced early needs at least 1-2 more years or development before he can go up against the big boys in the NFL...

Don't get me wrong-- i'm huge fan of both of them and hope they both go Round 1/2.... but practically speaking Jordan's got more immediate impact for the next draft for a team looking to score.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

1.) We do recruit at a top 15 level, and underperform relative to the talent, but as you alluded to that is because of poor evaluations. Pastor Richt's classes were all overrated AF, especially at positions that are glaring weaknesses on this current team, like WR, OL, & CB. In hindsight those classes may not even have been top 30. IMO they definitely qualify as fake classes.

2.) While its true bags have always been prevalent in CFB, more money is being thrown around today than at any pt in the history of the game. Not only that but back in the 80's when MIA was beginning to assert itself on the national stage, the program because of it's independent status, was more willing & open to adopt a "win at all costs" mentality. That is a complete 180 from what we have today. ACC conference affiliation all but guarantees that the university will never again adopt that mentality & commit NCAA infractions which may jeopardize it's guaranteed revenue stream. So in many ways conference affiliation has served a bigger blow to this football program than the NCAA ever could. This program's run of mediocrity has more or less mirrored ACC conference affiliation.

3.) I'm not saying 💲💰 guarantees you a championship. I'm saying in this current CFB climate, without it you don't even stand a chance. You simply cannot compete for titles today in a traditional fashion without💲💰. Imagine how bad we would've been without the transfers that you named? If we both acknowledge that this program has been poor at evaluating talent, why would we believe that this program would've fared better if we took recruits instead of transfers? Not every transfer is leaving his team because he's a malcontent or a divisive force. Some are actually leaving for legitimate reasons and extenuating circumstance beyond his control. Like...KJ Osborn. The culture issues on this team have definitely not been caused by transfers. They have been caused by the players that we recruited. So every situation is different, and it's important that you have a process in place that can determine whether a player is a fit or not.

4.) Also the transfer portal IMO does not abdicate responsibility for recruiting failures. The same Rumph that struggles to recruit quality CBs on an annual basis, also struggles to acquire quality CBs through the portal. If you're trash as a recruiter on the trail, chances are you'll probably be trash acquiring talent through the portal too. Compare that with Banda, who was able to acquire Bolden.

The transfer portal is simply another avenue that a team can explore in order to add talent to it's roster. Whether it's used judiciously or carelessly determines if it becomes a benefit. It's also not as highly contested as recruiting cycles because every team has limited resources. Level playing field means MIA can & should compete with any school in the country.

We doing the “we shouldn’t use the portal” thing again when most of our best players we got through the portal? King, Williams, Roche, Jaelan, Bubba all play critical roles on the #9 team in the country and were acquired via the portal.

Not all portal cases are created equal. It’s important to target kids that aren’t leaving bc they were passed up on the depth chart at their last stop. Which none of the aforementioned were.

I think we can have the best of both worlds. Recruit HS well and still find talented kids through the portal that can be upgrades for us at their positions.

Weren’t we complaining about culture issues? Weren’t some of ya’ll calling Brian Hightower, Jeff Thomas quitters for entering the portal? Yet, u want to build ur team as being 2nd Chance U w guys who didn’t earn PT or quit b/c they didn’t like how coach talked to them? OK.

Ain't about that....

It's about picking up 4star kids who don't want to wait behind starters at big time schools...

Those the kids we should be picking up...

Oh my brotha; trust me....I’m so used to this last minute chit. Lol. As long as we hit our targets, I’m good. What worries me is picking kids who are last minute hail marries, which we know r not Miami caliber, but we gotta do something. But I’m not going to lose my patience. We just need to keep winning, keep pushing forward, and we should hopefully become more appealing so we can close skrong

I’m not being facetious, but I tend to appreciate your post in threads. OK fellas, and imma include @Apex Predator in this response.

You brought up Rochè & Phillips; Take a look at our production from home grown recruits: J Jackson, McIntosh, Norton, GR15.....now compare that to the two aforementioned guys. Go compare T Hill’s production while here compared to J Garvin. Compare Nnoruka’s production to Nesta’s production.

Listen; in no way shape or form am I saying we shouldn’t touch the portal. What I’m saying is we still gotta hit our recruiting, first, and use the portal as an immediate band aid, only.

We shouldn’t be OK w the portal as a fall back plan. Throughout our history, we had key transfers, so I’m Gucci w that. I’m not Gucci w Diaz’s comments. You can’t say “we like what we have” and then say “we’ll look in the portal” all in an attempt to sidestep a pertinent question regarding recruiting the most important position in football.

Which seniors would you want to come back?
For me it would be Borregales, Harley and King. I’m assuming Donaldson is taking a redshirt and I want Roche & Williams to comeback, but I know they came here to go to the nfl after this season.

borregales is making NFL kicks.

he’s a millionaire by next summer.

book it.

king and Harley— depends on how they finish the season.

but I hate to say this about King— he’s too short as an NFL QB.

he won’t be able to see enough of the field in the pros where the LB’s/DL are all over 6’

Njoku looks like Tarzan, and have been injured a lot. I should know b/c I blindly pick him for my FFB squad every year, thinking it’s going to be different. Sophomore campaign was solid, and buddy can’t stay healthy since. Lost his starting position b/c of it.
Me too man, and end up dropping his *** by week 6

According the Miami Herald, Jordan is healthy. According to Manny Diaz, Jordan was healthy for NC State.

"Junior tight end Brevin Jordan, who was described as “healthy” by coach Manny Diaz this week and was expected to play after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury, remained unavailable."

Weird that Jordan would have COVID all this time and yet Diaz is saying he's healthy. Why would he lie about it or keep it a secret- because he's secretly trying to tank Jordan's draft stock so he comes back next year? That's some diabolical stuff by Diaz if that's the case.
Oddly enough, one can get COVID, recover, become non-contagious, and yet continue to test positive. This happens quite a bit. I suspect this is the case.
