Listen, Diaz has hit a homerun for the offseason. Its go time now, Im not going to pass judgement on anything until this team starts playing games. Even than Im going to give him some rope. Dude has a lot of great qualities. There is a reason we were 7-6 last year and its all not 100% Mark Richt. I do expect this team to win the coastal though for sure but we aren't going undefeated so I refuse to beat the team down when they do cough a game up.

Diaz is Zero Dark thirty. Information is AAA+ classified. For your eyes only type of ****

WARNING.....

Diaz went on to confirm that “this week will determine” the QB battle. Will the decision be announced publicly or will it be kept hidden until the opener?

“That depends, something we have to talk about inside, whether we choose to announce that or not,” Diaz said.

TRANSLATION: the starter may not officially be announced until a few days, or right before, gameday.

Act accordingly.
People have been acting accordingly for months.

I disagree with this assessment. Here's why, Diaz was in control of half of the team during CMR's tenure. He knows all the players and has recruited most of them. Diaz said when he came in and again in year 2 that "year 3 would be the year when we have the depth to compete at a high level." Guess what, this is year 3.

This is year 4 for Diaz

Well, this certainly didn't do anything to temper my expectations. Just don't let me down.

Call me a pessimist but I’m thinking this thing is going to be a work in progress. Not quite ready for the crocs so early in the season

Hate it, but we have beaten those SOBs and came awful close when we had no business doing so.....anything is possible....but reality is why we are dogs. New coach, new offense, new secondary, lack of depth just about everywhere maybe except DE and WR.

As long as we don't look lost, like a junior high school team, like L$U last year...I will be ok, but no way can a true Cane accept losing to the whine and cheese jort crowd and claim a moral victory.

71% completetion percentage is great, but has anyone seen any yardage numbers? With only 22YAC, I hope these were more than just check downs and dump off passes
What I read into it is that although there is a high completion rate, the accuracy may be lacking. For example, if Jeff Thomas, KJ Osborne, Hartley, or Pope is wide open running a deep cross and the ball is thrown where he has to slow down or come back to the ball, he's going to get tackled without any YAC. It was a completion, but an accurate pass thrown with anticipation would have resulted in YAC and/or a TD.

22 YAC... Those are 2018 numbers right there. Here's hoping that improves.

“There’s completions in this offense, (but) the offense had 22 yards after the catch,” Diaz said. “So, when they were completing passes, they weren’t going anywhere afterward.”

I wonder if that is a reference to QB ball placement. There is a universe of difference between a QB who throws a catchable ball and a QB who leads the receivers. Both show up as completions on the stat sheet, but one of them matters a **** of a lot more.

It could be that. The defense has been seeing the same plays over and over again for months. They should be on top of the routes and in position. The defense should always be ahead of the offense. That to me is just coach looking for something to complain about during the hazing week.

I hope he doesn't release it at all. One less thing the Gaytes can prepare for.

I wasn't pulling my concerns about it out of thin air...

What we need to hope for is that we get a stronghold on that position because while the Left side of line is usually looked at as being more important, the Right side particularly RT is a key position where you need to have stability.

I'm hoping either the light comes on & Campbell steps up, or they decide to move Scaife to RT.

And for the record I've got nothing against Herbert, he's a good kid & works hard, I just don't think he's ready to be the full time starter at RT. In fact, I've always felt he was much better as a Guard than a Tackle coming out of HS, because he's a solid run blocker, but his pass blocking is atrocious.

Who would u start at OL @Liberty City El
