Pretty sad when Folden did a much better job (sometimes Inspector Clousseau style by accident when he missed on his main targets who turned out to be major busts) of recruiting the DT position than Rick is.

It seems that your memory is about as weak as your posts, young fellow.

And you're posts on this site are just about finished.

The DT recruiting is a mess this cycle. It seems that Kuligowski is far better at developing than recruiting.

There are 3 top-rated DL in the St. Louis area. Trout committed to USC without coming on his visit and who knows if Thompson will come down.

And that's from his old stomping ground.

We can't rely on the local area producing game-breaking DTs. How many of those has the Miami area had? Lester Williams, Vince Wilfork, William Joseph, and ?

Kuligowski needs to get top-level national DTs. If he doesn't, than our DL won't be at a championship level.

It is what it is. And what it is is a huge disappointment at this point.

And out of those 1st rounders he's had, how many were DTs? Probably the bulk have been DEs.

This is the same guy that said that rj and Norton were wasted schollies.
At least grow some balls and say what you wanna say: Fire Kul. Stop being such a puss.

We are 6 deep at dt. We only need one more.

Did Coach Kul have a bunch of 4 and 5 stars at Mizzou? Don't think so!

For years

Yes, but golden actually left us with great depth (Mcintosh/Norton/Jenkins/Willis/Moten) and now we’re back to 2013/2014 levels

Solid options but still not to the level i would like to see. I just dont understand why DTs dont come to miami. There is plenty of playing time to be had.

Of course we could do better than those 5. But we can’t even get back to that level right now. We are rail thin at DT right now

Nesta Silvera is a top level dt , best in the country

Bro what are you talking about? How are we at 2013/2014 levels? We have a WAY better forecast with our current DTs than that cycle. Its like y'all forgot that Jon Ford was a massive get last year, or that Nesta Silvera is a top 4 defensive player in the COUNTRY. Or that Pat Bethel was strong 4 star talent and produced this year. WIllis always been talented and will be very quality whether he starts or not. Thats four very good DTs and that doesn't touch on the fact that DJ is gonna outgrow the end position. He is already 275+ and we know his ability. To have Martin and Fines at 6-7 on the chart is way better than you will find at most schools.

The biggest thing we are missing is how this staff works. They want the best talent south florida has every single year. Whatever the hot position is that year, they will fill up on it. Last year it was OL and ATH types. This year its WRs and CBs. ****, they did it in 2015 with WRs and LBs. And they fill in the rest much more than admirably.

Take that logic and apply it to next year, we got hella LBs, DTs, DEs, and RBs. Sit back my dudes. Number 3 class for a reason and we are about to have 19 commits sign tomorrow, plus a surprise or two. That means we have all of December and January to give undivided attention to Thompson, Surtain, Campbell, or anyone else they **** well please. Chess my dudes. Chess.

Only a handful, Sheldon Richardson and terry Becker were 5 stars
Aldon Smith’s and Shane ray were 4 stars

Thats only 1. Championship teams get multiple of those dudes every year not 1 every 3.

I have a different take on DT recruiting. No draft analysis I've been able to find rates Norton better than the 16th best draft eligible DT. He's projected to maybe go in rounds 3-5. RJ McIntosh isn't in anybody's top 25 that I have been able to find. UM has a problem of barely draft ready guys bolting early for the NFL. These guys, based on the information I've been able to find, would be gambling on a lot of DT's leaving the board and early.

This is a problem Richt needs to address. As bad as I hate even the slightest appearance of agreeing with broke, the numbers are what they are. We don't have real depth issues at DT unless BOTH Norton and RJ leave. Not many top rated DE's are going to give Kul the time of day knowing they may not play serious minutes for two or three years. If our guys leave, IMO they'll both be making a mistake, but it just might open up recruiting once playing time becomes something Kul can definitely pitch.

Miami fans kill me with overreactions

Willis is more talented than both mcintosh and norton and he’s back and practiced all fall

Kool has already said how high he was on bethel and especially ford

Now we get silvera a top 5 dt nationally(should be at least) and whoever else we end up getting.

That’s so terrible to you? Come tf on...

Sure
5star Willis
4 star bethel
3star jon ford
4 star silvera
Are all scrubs I guess.... my god at the overreaction

Bethel wasn't a 4 star dt.

Willis has been on the sideline more than he's been on the field the three years he's been here.

I’ll only reply once because you fail to recognize any legitimate issue with this team. You are being disingenuous. Ford has little experience and we will need him to start next year. Silvera will be a true freshman. Bethel has little experience and switched from de to dt this past year. Willis can barely stay at Miami a semester without getting in trouble (and also has never been a starter here). To make it all worse, this is assuming that all them stay healthy and all pan out (4* can bust too). 3 Dts in 3 cycles (even if we land Carson and make it 4) is BAD.

You need experience at DT more than anywhere else. Everyone knows this is a strong class and we had a strong year. That doesn’t mean we can’t be worried as **** about our depth DT for 2018 & 2019

Is Mizzou the bar for us now? How many titles did they compete for?
I’m listing who he recruited as 4stars I know of. 3 of those 4 were 1st round picks too

Kool didnt recruit those dudes.

It’s also not about the stars either. I’m estimating, but Gerald Willis will be the only DT who’s played over 150 snaps at DT on our roster next year.

Edit: forgot about Bethel

It's ironic Al's croots are the only guys we've had here at that position, that was his nemesis position his entire time at Um. Then once he finally landed some he's canned lol
