There’s something about this kid, man. Have a feeling this is gonna be one of those great stories where he’s balling out in primetime and Kirk Herbstreit’s telling the audience about this high school injury he overcame. Got that dog in him.
I had been expecting this for awhile. The week of, I was told he stepped in a hole or something on the field. I thought it was a BS story being told at the time.
I understand the feelings on here and agree it was egregious. Where’s the money going to come from though? I assume the local property owners and businesses end up paying for the settlement. Sucks for the kid, sucks for the community.
A lot of us said it the day he got injured.
Gaby said he’s at today’s game, no boot or anything and says he’s already running and backpedaling and expects to be ready to go by spring. Idk if I buy that but seems like awesome news regardless.
That’s ironic - I literally looked up this thread late last night to see if there were any updates.
Even if he's ahead of schedule bring him along slow and only play him in the bs games next year (Bethune, USF) to preserve his redshirt.
When did his injury occur again? Just wondering if there's a chance he'll be ready for next season.
Pretty sure it was right before high school spring training started.
It was sometime in early August right? Broken tibia can take up to 15 months depending on the break so He's likely redshirting next year.
Probably a good idea to redshirt him.
The idea that this kid is so good that he could suffer a near-catastrophic leg injury, miss his senior year and then walk in and play right away for us is fanciful at best.

According to David Brill, the attorney for Wallace and his family, Miami Central head football coach Jube Joseph told Wallace and his teammates “to meet up at the Miramar High School game field for an 11-on-11 scrimmage, and not tell anyone because it was an illegal scrimmage.”
According to Brill, the two teams participated in an unsanctioned, non-contact and un-padded 11-on-11 scrimmage on Miramar’s game field which Brill stated was “unsafe” and “not yet readied for use.” Wallace was injured after leaping to make an interception and landing awkwardly with his left leg in a hole on the field.

I don't care that it will be two years. Kid is the goods. Excited he's part of this class.
