After Miami’s win over South Florida, head coach Mario Cristobal thanked Hurricanes fans for sticking it out through the long weather delays, saying their energy made a real difference.

Here is what coach Cristobal had to say exactly after the game:

“Tremendously Appreciate THE AWESOME PRESENCE OF OUR HURRICANE FANS that stuck it out thru the weather delays. You made a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE! THANK YOU!!! See you Saturday…New Level… #GoCanes #CANE4LIFE.”

The fans definitely made a difference, from the early morning tailgate to the end of the day at seven o’clock, the place was buzzing with energy. According to many people I spoke with, very few fans left the game during the nearly two-hour weather delay caused by lightning in the area.

Cristobal and his staff are feeding off the energy of the crowd, and with the new atmosphere in the stadium, things definitely get wild, especially when the Hurricanes' Siren blares at the start to lead the Canes out of the tunnel. Cristobal and his staff are clearly embracing the intensity and is wanting that energy coming into this Saturday against In-state rival in the Florida Gators.

The attendance in the win over USF was 58,616. The last time Miami sold out two games in a season was back in 2017, when Hard Rock filled to capacity for games with Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. Cristobal’s Canes could be on the verge of repeating that if fan support continues at this pace especially this weekend

Fill the house! And be loud!

As someone who has been attending Miami games for a long time, seeing pretty much everyone stay through a 2 hour delay was pretty impressive.
Look like another gameday of rain coming up again.. sigh
