@Rellyrell

We need to get out of this contract

I find it funny that Adidas is pulling an Under Armour move, when their finances being as is. I remember a time Under Armour was giving everyone big $$ in college football & it back fired.

•PSU hasn’t won a Nat’l Title since 1986 & only have 2 in their history, yet they r willing to break the bank for them b/c they were in the CFP last season.

•UTenn hasn’t won a Nat’l Title since 1998, with the other 5 coming prior to majority of us on this board being born, & Adidas is willing to break the bank on them b/c they made the CFP.

Many PSU fans already said if the switch happens, they won’t be buying their gear, so the only way Adidas is going to recoup its investment is if PSU make some noise. There’s this new language they keep stating w both UTenn & PSU, though:

“Adidas is looking to invest in their NIL.” This is language I hadn’t heard from any of Adidas’ other schools except KU for basketball.

Lmao

Noooooo, that’s not the clause. The clause was for us to be the highest paid in the ACC, b/c we were told we would be their flagship program for the ACC. That was soon debunked w/ Adidas pre-extending UL, making them the highest paid school in the ACC shortly after our contract was signed.

This is y another, outside party had to inform Blake James that Adidas was in violation of our clause, & Adidas was like “well, u see, what had happened was….” Our contract’s value was around $8m/per (rounding up & being very generous b/c it’s closer to the $7.5 range), while UL was valued at $16m/per.

So no, this is not good news for Miami in regards to Adidas. UW, KU, UL, A&M, Nebraska, & now UTenn (& potentially PSU) will all be substantially more compensated. Adidas has found their new toys.

1. UL, KU are priorities b/c of UL has an alum working in an executive position, while KU is Adidas’ b-ball crown jewel. Both r long standing partners for 20+ yrs

2. UW was supposed to be Adidas’ new toy b/c this was the first time an outsider from the Pacific Northwest was able to break up the Nike monopoly in that region, plus Adidas just moved their U.S HQ to that region. UW was a marking its territory move.

3. Nebraska & Indiana r priorities b/c not only are these **** near life long apparel partners, but they move weight in merchandise

4. Now PSU & UTenn r Adidas’ new crown jewel in CFB, giving them the best odds (in their mind), to break up the Nike school’s stranglehold of winning CFB Nat’l Titles.

I literally just had this discussion w/ a former employee from Adidas’ marketing team. Do I think we stay w Adidas? My gut tells me yes just b/c I don’t trust our admin, but we will not remotely be paid anywhere near these other schools b/c:

1. We don’t have the pedigree over the past 20+ yrs as UTenn & PSU
2. We don’t move units like these other schools

Also & lastly, let’s just say hypothetically this user was correct; ummm, the terms of that 2015 contract is null & void upon renewal. lol. The promise to be the highest paid Adidas’ School would be between 2015-2027. Lmao

So either way this fan base tries to rationalize us staying, if we were promised to be the highest paid when we signed w Adidas, well that didn’t/hasn’t happened (see UL, UW, Texas A&M, Nebraska, UTenn, potentially PSU, & KU who will all be paid more than us between this time frame); but, if we were promised to be the highest paid ACC team, that didn’t/hasn’t happened (see UL).

Again, Adidas is the home of promising u the world & the moment someone/another program catch their attention, u become an after thought.
And surely after we switch back to Nike, any additions Nike makes after the fact wouldn’t be them making those programs their Crown Jewels, and certainly they’d never prioritize anyone else over us lol…

Every single time Nike adds a program, it’s see? Everytime Adidas adds a program it’s evidence of how we don’t matter lmao.

We will take the best offer on the table. If Nike values us more than Adidas, I’m sure we will be back with Nike in a year or so…. If they don’t I think we are staying. Nike has the choice…

If adidas is helping our NIL program and Nike wouldn’t do that then I say stick with adidas. We looked clean against Notre Dame. I think Mario is telling them to make the uniforms look good and not letting them do the goofy ****

The move away from Adidas makes too much sense. I kinda of trust Dan/Mario on this one, hopefully the booster influence isn’t too heavy like it’s been mentioned

or if that’s too dated, how about this?

there are so many ugly *** examples. i will admit, Richt kept it classy. and overall the current uni design is clean... bc it’s classic.

but staying or leaving (and man, do i need these mfs gone) adidas needs to fix these gd stripes. w/ all this money floating around, i just cannot understand how flaws like this get thru. then are allowed to stay.

can’t unsee it, mane. to paraphrase Billy Hoyle, it must not be easy for adidas. must be hard gd work. for them to make something this pretty look so **** sloppy.

ok i’m done. pardon the outburst i didn’t wanna jinx the adidas/nike thread or the season’s optimism w/ my simmering rage. 😂✌️

Miami PE Jordans would be the most hyped and sought after college shoe ever
