Coley "Thoroughly" Enjoys Visit

Last time I spoke with Northeast Head Coach Donnell Bennett, he informed me that his star wide-out would be taking a visit to Miami over the weekend. Bennett spoke about how the visit went for Coley.

“He enjoyed it thoroughly. He liked the coaching staff and the campus.”

Asked if this weekend’s visit changed anything for Miami’s chances, Bennett had this to say.

“I think so. It helps them in a big way.”

Another factor that could be weighing in Miami’s favor right now is his familiarity with players from South Florida such as Deon Bush and Tracy Howard.

“That definitely helps too. He talked about them a lot. I think that is going to make a difference.”

What kind of advice has Bennett been giving Coley about the recruiting process?

“Just the basic stuff like finding a position coach that he feels comfortable with and putting himself in a situation that he can be successful off the field and on the field.”

As far as when Coley’s decision will come, Coach Bennett has a hunch that it might happen before signing day.

“That I’m not sure of. He says he’s going to wait ‘till signing day, but I’m not too sure on that one.”

The plot thickens

Coley would be a great addition to the WR group. Does anyone know how he compares to the current WR's?

Keep him home. The fact that he likes the South Florida guys on Miami is huge. Make it a hometown thing and put your city back on the map!

I'll add...the addition of Coley and Collins would make us the preeminent offense in College football next season. Just my humble opinion of course.

with him and collins who cares about the defense

I am no expert but to me he looks alot like Lockhart but is a better route runner and further along in his delvelopment.Thats all based of his highlights and things i have read.

Coley was top 4-5 wr in the state last year. That's how good this kid is. If we lose a talent like AJL, filling that spot with coley would be great!

Coley and AJL on the same team is not even fair

Kid is a straight-up stud. Made mincemeat out of top-flight CBs as an underclassman.

Peter, what is the vibe you get from Deon and Tracy? If the relationship between prospective Canes and current Canes is important here, what kind of feel for the program do you think guys like Coley are getting from their guys on the inside?

Coley is by far better then Cooper coming out of high school IMO, might still be better even now.

Major FAP, just saying

Thomas, Coley, and Collins. Those are my 3 most wanted.

I know there are pressing needs for this team but when you start landing guys like that you can mask deficiencies a little easier.
