The shell shock on the defense was not so much shock from their side of things. LSU kept getting the ball a 1st down away from FG range. Rosier couldn't hit the ocean from his boat. Calls were going against us and the bounce and interception we should have had slipped through their fingers. It was one of those games. Down 20-3, then Rosier makes the critical mistake and that's pretty much the game. Even at the end of the half, we should have had the ball at the 45 with a minute and a couple of timeouts left. Even 27-6 is better than 27-3 and if you at least score, you feel good about something at halftime.

It was one of those games. LSU must have been talking mad **** on the field and the scoreboard backed it up. Regardless of how LSU got there, they got there. The more I think about it, the more I think LSU was going after that first punt to get inside Feagles head. To say it worked is an understatement.

All that being said, Manny should shorten the rotation in games like this. That many backups on the field was a disaster and that falls flat on Manny's pointy head and scruffy beard.

I mean we held them to like 6 points in 3/4 of the quarters. The defense played like *** in the 2nd quarter. But it was mostly a combo of terrible starting position and one big play.

The only thing defensively I'm dissapointed about is the amount of subs that occured.

I'll give Diaz credit. He is a blowhard but he's a **** good blowhard. He doesn't back down from anything which I can respect but what I would like to hear is why he is entrusting a jag like Knowles to be the last line of defense in that type of situation. SHDH

So the blown assignment and horrendous angle had nothing to do with it? That should have been a 4 to 5 yard pickup at best on a 2nd and 15 play. What is clear is we've got some upperclassmen that really need to move down the depth chart, even on defense. They are the same liabilities they were last year.

I do agree that we got punched in the mouth and we rolled over in the second quarter. We didn't quit but we also didn't respond. A couple of kids just killed us on defense after the first touchdown and it wasn't the young guys.
Diaz does such a **** job of disguising his blitzes or changing looks pre-snap that a QB in his first game diagnosed it immediately and audibled into a better play. Diaz got tooled by another QB in his first game.

Malik sucks. You go down 14 points in the second quarter and you have Malik as your QB against a D like LSU... you know you have to play perfect ball to have a chance to win.
Best way to solve that as a defense is to not get in such a big hole early in games. Seems like we give up 21 points before the tailgaters even make it into the stadium.

So if the other team gets the ball at their own 40 that automatically means we have to allow them to score a TD? You guys and your excuses for this defense in order to advance your agenda of hanging everything on Rosier are clownish.

We were playing a bad offense with all new skill players, a new OC, a QB starting his first game, no feature RB, two of their starting OL out of this game, and we still let them score 27 points on us. Pathetic.

We played well in 3 of the 4 quarters? LOL. What the fck does that matter when in one of the quarters we give up 100000 points?
