I'd stack up on DL this cycle, would take 7 if we can get Carter. Riggins makes us more likely to land Pinder so if we want Pinder don't see why we would drop Riggins.

Carter (take no matter what)

Roberts
Chantz
Anaele

Riggins
Pinder/Brinson/OOS
Moise
so we just gonna take 7 DL and neglect all the other positions that need to be filled up. Roberts is consider a DT for us at the next level. We will take 6 DL at most, and that will depend on the situation with Hill, Phillips, and Williams.

It'd be great to get some idea as to what is up with Trevon Riggins. Did he play this past year? What's he weighing? Is he going to camps? Where's the tape?

I would be surprised if camps weren't offering incentives to get top kids to come. Money or promises of awards or whatever, I'm sure they do it. If you don't have those guys at your camp nobody will take it seriously.

The staff might be making a mistake by not making this kid a priority now. I know they have other kids higher up on the board and Jess is in communication with him but if they try to get on this kid late they will miss out.

facts, Moise is good at DT and OG. I'm excited to see how this recruiting process will turn out, theres a good bit of talent at DL, specifically DT, and OL in SFL this year.
I love this kids game but you'd literally be crazy to disregard Wiggins for this kid or **** near any other. Especially considering our need for dt. More specifically top tier dt. I gaurentee you after jess works with riggins for 2 years he will become elite. That shouldnt mean we dont go after pinder or any other top tier dt though.

The board is **** bent on going after transfer/HS DL kids, any and all. No matter what happens to the rest of the roster. I get there is talent, but man, we need to have a somewhat balanced roster.

I just believe that there are better DTs this class we can get, without taking up so much space. Its not like we can just get 7 DL without taking numbers from other positions during this class also. I don't think Riggins has a higher ceiling than other prospects as well, but thats just my opinion and maybe he proves me wrong his senior year.

I look at the roster and I see that we have unbalanced talent...most of our top talent is at the non-money positions. Bama and Clemson stack up on the lines and in the secondary every year...I'm not saying we should neglect the other positions, but given a choice between a stud 7th DL or a 4th WR/2nd RB/2nd TE, I would take the DL. Obviously all theoretical because my thing was assuming we get studs like Carter and Williams to join the class.

How do you know what Riggins is like as a prospect currently? Have you seen film or footage since his Sophomore year tape?

If so, please share

I feel you. One thing that's fact however is a team is built from the trenches. A dominant defense especially considering how we scheme things starts with this dl. So we certainly pull from other spots if necessary. However it wont happen. At dt & lt & qb it's the positions that require the longest, strongest relationships to effectively recruit a dominant top tier target at. Since were basically just entering into the ring we need to set a wide parameter to see who is really interested. However as I know riggins very well I think he has the potential to be a great addition for us. I've known this kid since he was 14. He has the tools to be very special with the right coaching and right scheme.

thats the thing nobody has tape on him since sophmore year, bc hes been injured, so what makes you think he has tremendously progress? I also have been asking people who has seen him play to discredit my claim on him as a prospect. I have also read some articles, where prospects evaluators think he will be a rotational DT at the next level. Whether somebody becomes a rotational level at the next level is to be determine, but we should be recruiting kids that u think have the potential to start and compete, not with the idea that he will become a good rotational player.

Currently, according to 247, Clemson has 3 DT on their roster and 2 committed, Alabama has the same, the Canes have 6 and 1 committed (they list Riggins as a SDE). We lose 2 after this season and both Clemson and Alabama lose 1.
We can all chew these "facts" up, but as I have stated before, we can't sign 3+ DTs this cycle without attrition.

Don’t disagree with what you’re saying. Don’t know where you got the notion that I think he’s tremendously progressed.

I’m asking what you’re basing things off of bc I legitimately want to know bc I’m kind of confused by the lack of any info from Riggins in the past year

I was not insisting you said that, I was just trying to show you how I was thinking.
