Class Impact: Brashard Smith to Miami

He’s also not a slight dude at all. Regardless of exact height, he’s pretty thick and strong. Not a guy who gets knocked off his route easily. He’s strong and seeks out contact. Excellent player.

Agree with the above post. The "Yul vs Brashard" debate was a great one at one point. But now it looks like Brashard has clearly seperated himself. Yul had his shot and I think the staff would have easily taken his commitment early on in the process. Now we dont need him and we DEFINITELY dont need anymore small, tiny, slot kids. Im hoping that KSmith or Redding or Payton can finally push Pope to the slot in 2021 where he needs to be. And put Wiggins on the bench where he needs to be.

I just can’t see pope as a slot wr

U need brains so u can find the soft spot of zones
Make tough catches to keep the chains moving
Be elusive
All traits I don’t see in pope

I actually would like to see more 4 in the slot with Chaney at rb

He’s Kevin Williams all over again, or so we can hope. But the body type is the same. Relatively short but strong so able to bounce off arm tacklers.

criminally underrated. Much deserved star!

A lot of our guys are. Looking at the "bottom half" of our class rankings wise and it doesn't look like traditional 3 star reaches. Thomas Davis, Khalil, RR, Tyler Johnson, Malik, Troutman and Borreagles is a haul at 3 star.

With this kid and the rest of this 2021 haul, we really are fucccin

Don’t sleep on Jacolby
I know he's good too but he may need a bit more work in the weight room before he sees the field, plus not sure how likens/lashlee will utilize him, will he be primarily in the slot or will he be used in & out situationally kinda like pope.

Even at 5'9 a 92 is still underrating him. The most overdone comparison is 89/Steve Smith for every short WR. This is the first time I think it's valid. He has the thick build and the physical running, but more importantly he can line up outside, run a full route tree and win the ball.

I hope the staff doesn't pigeonhole him to the slot cause there are better candidates (Restrepo, Daz, Jacolby) who benefit more from the 2-way go and zone spot drops.

This chap will eat those YAC yardage in this offense. Breaking tackles and taking it to the house. These are the type of players Iove. Tough hard nose. We thought Ezzard was gonna be YAC type WR.

Agree. Smith can be effective anywhere based on his film. People see under 6 feet and will automatically put him in the slot.

All those smoke and boundary screens where our WRs fall down by a gust of wind? This guy is taking those for extra yardage. He is a dream for this offense
