Coral Gables, FL.-- The #1 wideout in the Class of 2028 Jaylen Addai was in the house at Hard Rock Stadium for Florida State v #3 Miami and had nothing but smiles upon leaving.
The 6 foot, C/O 2028 consensus 5 star from Shadow Creek in Pearland, TX. has been heralded as one of the top pass catchers in this junior class, and for good reason. Addai is leading his Sharks' squad in style, hauling in almost 30 grabs for 544 yards and 8 touchdowns on the regular season.
This weekend, Jaylen Addai took a trip from just outside of H-Town down to the 305 for the annual ACC rivalry between Florida State and Miami. It was Addai's first gameday visit, and it left a lasting impression on the 5 star pass catcher.
"That game was insane! Crazy to take everything in! That was one of the best games I've ever been to! It was a great experience as my first Miami game."
Jaylen continued on by sharing some his favorite moments of the trip
"Honestly, it was really everything! Coming to the game, it was raining- but it was still live. I got to talk to some of the players, talk to a lot of the coaches and strengthen my relationships with them. I was happy to get back down here, and I look forward to getting down here again soon!"
Obviously as the #1 wideout in the Country, the Offers have flown in. Jaylen Addai currently holds 48 Division I Offers from some of the top schools across the Nation. If you think of the logo, I guarantee Jaylen's garnered a scholarship from that program.
When asked about some other non-Miami schools that have stood out across the process, Addai cited Ohio State, USC (Southern California), Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama and Notre Dame.
When asked about the next steps in his recruitment, Jaylen highlighted the things he looks for most in his process- Development
"My end goal is to get to the League. Honestly, I just want a coach that's able to develop me a as player and as a man...When I get to that school, you can expect a dawg that loves the game. I don't just say it, I show it. For whoever gets me- I'm just going to play my heart out."
The NFL courses through Jaylen Addai's veins. Jaylen is the son of former NFL star running back Joseph Addai, a former 2006 first round draft pick from LSU who tallied almost 4,500 career yards from scrimmage and 39 rushing scores. The former LSU tailback was a member of the Tigers 2003 National Championship roster, and won Super Bowl XLI with Indianapolis.
Despite hailing from outside Houston, Jaylen has his eye on the tropics
"I love the weather in Florida. Even when it rains, it's only for about 30 minutes and then it'll get sunny. I love the tropical weather, I love being down here and I look forward to being back down here."
