Under Mark Marquess, Stanford went to one CWS in the past 14 years and missed the tournament completely in 3 of the last 5 years.

First year coach David Esquer has them at #2 in the RPI and a lock for a national seed.

But coaching doesn't matter. Technology and facilities matter.

They held on to Augie way too long. I can agree with that.

So you should also agree that Dallas Baptist is a threat because of Dan Heefner. If rokulika was their head coach the facilities wouldn't make one bit of difference.

Who said coaching did not matter? Please find that quote for me.

If you think that facilities/how players get developed are not significant, the game has passed you by.

You mean to fend off all the rain in the Austin area?

rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, wintry mix, lightning, bird droppings, buzzing insects, slaughtered pigs, giant loud whistles...

Lack of facilities and technology is not the reason why we can't make contact against FIU's bullpen day. We have issues with hitting approach, fielding, and baserunning. It starts with identifying the right players and then knowing how to teach baseball. Technology is a nice tool to help with that. But if DiMare and Morris can't find guys who can play basic fundamental baseball, the problem is DiMare and Morris, not high tech developmental tools.

You still looking for that quote where I or anyone else says coaching does not matter?

The problem is DiMare and Morris (Arteaga I'll give a pass). The problem is also the investing into the program.

Do you think its acceptable for schools like Dallas Baptist and Coastal Carolina to out spend the 4x National Champion University of Miami on baseball facilities? Yes or no

We can't expect to contend long-term by taking the "this is what you're given, now go do the best you can with it'' approach. When Miami decides it wants to be good at baseball again, that's when it'll happen because David Thompson and Zack Collins aren't walking through that door.

You dismissed Dan Heefner's character and vision and said it was all about the money they put into development. Take away Dan Heefner and replace him with Smoke Lavall and Dallas Baptist is going to stop making regionals, even with all of their toys. A program's success begins and ends with the man running it.

I do not care that they are spending more money on facilities. Neither one is stealing kids from us. And neither is Florida, by the way. We will get the kids we want if we can figure out what a college baseball player looks like without Perfect Game doing it for us.

People were raving about this current freshman class. Can they play or not?

I just want to make sure you realize that you keep ignoring that nobody has ever said that the reason we suck is below average facilities and the refusal to use what's available technologically. And you're also claiming facilities don't matter in college sports.

Now, I think you're a good troll but you may have some issues comprehending what you read because nobody is this bad at it without trying.

The whole reading comprehension insult was en vogue in the early 2000's. It doesn't carry much weight anymore. People use it when they can't figure out how to respond to a post.

He also thinks its acceptable for small schools to invest more in their baseball program. He also thinks Florida is not stealing south Florida's best players when their two best players on the current team are tri county kids. They also have two of the best players in Broward County headed up there next Fall (Christian Scott - Calvary and Cory Acton - Heritage Plantation). I'm sure Miami didn't want those two /sarcasm

Don't be a female. The "he thinks...." thing is lame. Respond to me if you have something to say.

If there were only four players coming out of the tri-county area every three years, you might have a point. There are plenty of players in the area for us to make the f'ing regionals every year. DiMare and Morris are buffoons. Why you continue to whine about facilities is a complete mystery.

"Neither one is stealing kids from us. And neither is Florida, by the way"

Your statement is not factual. Florida has been running circles around us in recruiting. Heck, our best hitter Danny Reyes is a guy who couldnt get playing time at UF. Maybe they cant get the Miami Dade kids from Pace, Gulliver, etc. but they can get whoever else they want down here. And they get them on campus.

Florida doesn't have to steal guys from down here because they actually focus on the whole state. They're like Alabama in football. They might occasionally get a south Florida guy, but they cherry pick. We still control recruiting in the area. Problem is, we don't look outside the area unless the kid contacts us first.

Because DiMare absolutely mismanaged the roster. Again, we f'ed up in recruiting. Video analysis doesn't fix that.
