For the first time ever, the Miami Hurricanes have defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels two times in one season. This is a season of many firsts, and it has been a fun ride. I wouldnt call it a roller-coaster, but there were certainly some hiccups in the road (Indiana St, FGCU). Regardless, the team that we, and more recently the world, have all watched is a different team then it was to start the season. Durand Scott is a star. Shane Larkin is a superstar. Gamble STARTS over 1st team Pre Season All ACC Center Reggie Johnson. TMJ and Rion Brown have been melting butter in conference play, Kadji is the black Dirk, and our practice players are getting playing time in MULTIPLE GAMES.
Getting back to the game, in all honesty, after winning 6 of their last 7, I expected UNC to play us better than they did last time we met. It was clear to me today and the rest of the country that Miami is just head and shoulders the better team out of the two in 2013. None of the UNC "stars" were able to get anything going as everything they put up was either blocked to bolivion or clanking off the iron. Gamble man-beasted again today with dunks and even got a silly technical foul that shouldnt have even been called. I read on twitter it was called for "dunking too good". The Heels were outmanned, outgunned, pretty much out-everything'd against the Hurricanes.
TOP PERFORMERS
Shane Larkin had 18 points and a career high 9 assists.
Durand Scott had 17 and 3 steals.
Kenneth Kadji had 17 points and 6 boards.
Rion Brown came off the bench to add 11.
Next up for the Miami Hurricanes (18-3, 10-0) they travel to Tallahassee to play the second game against bitter rival Florida State who just lost today to Wake Forest. I will be at the game and I am excited to see the GOAT Canes basketball squad with my own twos. My prediction? - Ruthlessness.
Canes rolled. #dammitmane
