First of all, 'Bama routinely takes huge kids and makes them linebackers. Second, that's fine, lets say he is just an edge rusher...STILL want a 6'5", 250 lb, super athletic edge rusher.

Give me the name of all these 6'5'' LB's that bama has. They may of have of had a few, but it's not the norm.

If we're transitioning to a 3-4 or even looking for 3-4 personnel/hybrid players, this kid can play backer and put his hand down. Problem solved. Height won't limit a linebackers effectiveness. I'm more concerned about the kid's skillset and playing in space

3-4 is the word on the street but don't say it too loudly around here.

If he is playing the hybrid DE/OLB in a 3'4 he can be 6'5. 6'5 250 for a DE in a 4-3 is too small unless the player is a complete freak

I personally am REAL ok with the idea of a 6'5", 250 (projecting), super athletic linebacker...

6'5 LB.......sure buddy

Dion Jordan

6'3 240lb Safety....

Sean Taylor

just cause theres an exception doesn't mean ****. We've had possibly the best history of LBs in college football history and how many were 6'5?

Jesus you're like my ****** Yenta grandmother who just won't let it go. Cool, he might be too big to be a traditional linebacker. How many kids have we recruited lately to play the edge rusher hybrid role? McCord...AQM...Hoilett...Bond...Rico...and those are just the ones we got. Linebacker is going to start taking on a different meaning in this scheme, as has been said a half dozen times in this thread. Call it whatever you want, I just want the big, fast, athletic kids on my defense somewhere.

Well with Chad Thomas apparently showig signs he may want out of S. Fla this could open the door for a player like Demetrius Jackson, and the possibility of walking on to UM's basketball team would be huge I am thinking for this young man. He should definitely try to attend UM's last two camps then combined with a good Sr Yr could end up with a UM offer in plac of Chad Thomas.

Go Canes

Is Shannon still @ Ark?

If so, this isn't a surprise. They'll get more kids than you think from down here...

Who wouldn't want to play for the coach who landed all the sofl kids in his time here and restored us to national prominence

Shannon making inroads into Booker T! Lol. Yeah right. You had to know that his boy Ice was gonna throw him a bone or two at least once a year. Kid was a HUGE project and Randy was known for loving these types of guys. Who will ever forget the infamous Raheem Buxton!
