Based off some videos I've seen of him, we may have found our shooter. He looks like a combo guard that can play on the ball or on the wing. He seems adept in the pick & roll game who won't hesitate to bury defenders who go under on the P&R screens. Need him to be a shot-maker, not a shot-taker though. He's got a ton of experience at 23 years old. I anticipate he'll crack the rotation to play good minutes. Can't imagine him coming to America. to sit the pine.
You can tell by his style of play he’s played a lot of bball. Very much under control playing at his own pace. I agree with the Pnr, he looks most comfortable with the high screen and playing off it . He’ll definitely be in the rotation. He’s the only guy that brings his skill set to the guards. Being a veteran helps too. The tourney is about veteran guard play.

Malovec to me may have the highest upside as a pure shooter on the roster. I understand he played in the second division of Serbian basketball but 37% from three (granted on 3 attempts per game) 55% from 2 and 84% from the line are good predictive metrics on how he may fare in the college game.

What I like overall is that we're bringing in guys who either have played a ton of college games or have overseas pro experience against fairly strong competition.

Best guess is we start the year with a rotation that looks like this:

Donaldson/Dante Allen
Washington/Dovrat
Henderson/Marcus Allen
Reneau/Malovec
Udeh/Altuntas

In a perfect world/once they adjust to the college, we stagger Reneau and Udeh and shift Malovec up to play small ball 4. Then have Dovrat as the starting 2 and Washington in the 6th man role. Much more positional versatility and floor spacing with a group like that.
You think Lucas will use a 10 man rotation? This isn't Duke. My guess is a 7 man rotation, maybe 8 max as we start the ACC schedule.

A projection of where we start the season. I'm not used to having a roster with 13 scholarship players:

Starters
Donaldson
Washington
Henderson
Reneau
Udeh

Bench
Dante Allen
Marcus Allen
Malovec
Dovrat
Altunas

Deep bench/redshirt candidates
Kee
Laboy
Maddox

To start the season, yes, I expect a deeper rotation.

Not comparing him to Luka but there’s some of the same qualities to his skill set. Like Luka he plays at his own pace , doesn’t get sped up. Uses his body on offense to feel defenders especially on the drive , creates contact. He’ll definitely be able to handle the physicality with his body type. Shoots pretty well off the dribble and spotting up. I like the addition. He brings something different to the team.
When i first saw the tape, first comp that came to mind was Goran Dragic, for most of the same reasons you just listed.
