Haha knowles and carter didn’t miss tackles if they totally whiff on them apparently. Even if bubba isn’t the goods he has to be an upgrade over 20

So the trick is to not put urself in position to make a tackle and you won’t be penalized for missing one *mind blown gif*

Knowles got 6 solo tackles.. that **** is trash. All he doing is jumping on piles.

Lol. No.

I know you are not being serious but if a football player takes himself out of position to even make a tackle, that would obviously be a negative (even though he may not technically get criticized for missing a tackle he didn’t try to make).

As to Knowles or any of our safeties, the analysis isn’t just simply based on solely how many tackles he made. The coaches assuredly don’t look at these things in a vacuum and don’t compare apples to oranges. Their are many factors that go into their analysis.

Lol you are making this deeper than it really is. Even if they’re doing trigonometry while they’re watching film the results would still show Knowles is trash.

Banda said if you tackle you play if you don’t you won’t play... what other analysis fits into that statement that would explain why Knowles gets on the field? It doesn’t exist bc it’s bull****.

Its not because the young guys are finding their way.

It's because there is no more pass rush to pressure the QB, and the scheme is counterintuitive.

Hall made some big mistakes and whiffed on some coverages but tackling has never been an issue. I actually cheer now when Knowles makes any contact with an opposing player, let alone actually tackles them. I’m not sure what tape Banda has been watching on Knowles but it can’t be from actual games. Bubba is going to run away with a safety spot. I think Banda was trying to send him a message to be physical more than anything else.

Sick and tired of hearing "how young" we are every year. Top teams have tons of juniors leaving every year. Freshmen excelling all across the land. Man, coach these young men up and set the bar higher. So much talent, so little time

See Post # 18 about “common sense.”

You say Knowles is trash. Our coaches disagree. You should take up your “ trash / bull****” position directly with the coaches. Maybe you will change their minds.

I don’t really like Banda. He did a pretty good job with Carter, Jenkins, Quan and Red, though, so I’m open to listening. And IMHO the reaction to his point on tackling is overblown here. He’s just trying to focus on fundamentals with young guys who are looking for the big hit. I think Bolden is going to bring a lot to the Safety group. And we’ll stop hearing about tackling and start hearing talk of safety blitzes and interceptions. At least that’s what I hope and expect to see as the season progresses.

i am also not a hater of this staff.. i am giving them time.. however that first quote about jaquan- and how we forgot about the growing pains.. uh,.. no.. jaquan was great from the very beginning.

As a starter Jaquan didn’t really start playing well until after the FSU game. He was pretty solid as the 3rd safety or so in 2016

Man when Bob knowles graduates I will be able to sleep so much better at night. Banda talks about knowles like he is a Jaquan level player I swear

Obviously, for safeties, tackling is the most important thing. A miss = a touchdown.

Banda... I don’t think he gets it. Safeties don’t need instincts... safeties don’t need range... safeties don’t need cover abilities... they just need to tackle... this guy is going to keep Bubba on the bench

EXACTLY

Last year’s pass D relied on the QB being under pressure

Seriously. The people who call themselves fans of this program are so retarded and toxic and negative, that you can't even have a coach give a quote to the media without every syllable being dissected. Yeah dude, tackling is important. Ask Kadarius Toney about it.
Just curious how do you feel about Banda?

He just said that after Quan and Redwine left, that there is no pour water, instant success solution.

This is that weak minded mentality bullsht that needs to go. Why don't you try recruit and develop, so the next guy comes in prepared to take the mantle. Last I checked, both those dudes stayed for four years, so you had time. You had time and failed. Carter looks lost more often than not and Hall looks one year behind schedule.

Mfer needs to raise his self accountability

agreed, but the scheme is different than what these kids have been learning in the past. That's why Carter looked good last year and doesn't now.

Exactly. This is carters 3rd year and Halls 2nd.

They should of been ready...
