That play was to prevent to quick first down pass. The safety over top is not in the pictures in the screen shot will be the providing the extra help over top

Yeah yeah.

Incredibly high risk, low reward.

In addition the safety was obligated to the other receiver.

Miami's halfback pass in the snow was also designed to result in a TD.

“That’s something defensively we talked about with our four down personnel, being able to drop a defensive end in some situations and bring in a fourth or fifth rusher from another spot. He has a knack for that. I think Jahfari is going to have a big year next year, is going to contribute quite a bit to this defense.”

I know many of you are quick to defend this by showing the likes of Aaron Donald & company doing it on Sunday's. But this is not what I want my DC openly saying about one of my talented DE's to the media. Whether I'm old school or not IDGAF. I could care less about this scrub *** coach telling me how my DE can drop in to coverage on some situations only to send some weak *** delayed safety blitz that we saw time and time again.

College football is not that complicated.... especially in the tiny might division of the coastal/acc

Its a busted concept put forth by muppets.

Baker is underwhelming. Really disappointed in Miami's defensive staff as a whole, but Baker in specific.

The best news out of this interview was that Steed still has a shot at coming back healthy. Hopefully waynejr starts posting again. ... If Joyner, Brooks, Huff and Steed are all ready to play, we may not see the drop off at LB I was afraid of.

It works if you're **** LeBeau.

Baker (and Diaz) isn't **** LeBeau. It's College and you have plus athletes, compared to most of the teams you play. Keep it simple.

Some people hold these guys to standards they don't apply to themselves. Like Mad Dog would say " a bunch of corporate time stealing weasels trying to set company policy. "

I really can't grasp what their standard is...we had an elite run defense last season (I've already broken down in intricate detail why in another thread). Did we take a step back in the pass game? Yes, and that was to be expected since we lost four ******* seniors from the secondary. We still had an outstanding defense. Had we a competent offense or a kicker we'd have been playing Clemson in the ACCCG in 2019.

Im sure they're dudes on here who'll debate you at nauseam about the D. ( like they have already in the other thread) but their is no denying the kicking and the offense was a **** show...

We have depth at lb now but our experience is **** besides McCloud. We have McCloud, Brooks, Huff, Flagg, Austin-Cave, Jennings, Steed, Joyner, and I'm sure Carter could play there. Hopefully this group stays healthy because I don't want to see Rigatoni playing.

Can’t wait to see our best DE dropping into coverage. Gonna be great. Love the cuteness.
Agree can we just rush our best pass rushers: can't wait to see Jahari in coverage and our blitz coming from a safety 20 yards down the field :

How was his defense at La Tech, didn’t one guy break the sack record
He had one guy (Ferguson) make 17 plays (sacks) in a season. That is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, as his defense had to play 950 other plays over the course of the same season.
