This is going to sound bad, but.......Did anyone really expect Pete to ask those type of questions? I sure didn't. The minute I saw the title of this thread I rolled my eyes.

im sure we wont be rolling our eyes in a year or two. Cool to see this kid get better at what he does. And this forum creates a nice environment of accountability for him, with everyone picking apart what he does he can only improve

I like what Pete does even though I mentioned to Able a while back that all of his optimism was going to get him roasted when we missed out on guys. With that said, the reason I rolled my eyes was because Pete's just not that type of kid, and I knew the interview wasn't going to be what it needed to be. I don't think that will change a year or two from now either. That's not to dog Pete, but instead to call it like I see it. He's got a certain relationship with guys down there where he's not going to do the type of interview that needed to be done in this situation.

just my .02

I don't know, Pete's in a catch 22 spot here. He needs to build up his rep and relationships before he can start asking the truly tough questions. If he starts grilling Luke, then Luke's not going to do another interview with him or talk to him about recruits. Now, if Pete's still in the business 2 years from now, hopefully he will have built up more relationships and reputation and have more leverage to ask those questions w/o fear of being closed out in the future.

That being said, the way Luke goes on Twitter spouting one-sided arguments, I'm not sure anybody would be able to ask him the hard questions w/o fear of being shut out in the future.

Luke said:
I feel like we should get all these kids because I know how it was built. We had Portis, McGahee, and all of them stacked up.
Somebody tell this dumb **** that Portis was from Gainesville.

Which is basically why I said that I rolled my eyes; I knew what type of interview it was going to be (the way Luke wanted it to be). Regarding things being different in a couple of years, I'm not so sure. He's a young kid dealing with seasoned vets/manipulators. I think Luke would shut his *** out in 2015 just like he would now. Why interview this POS? This dude does nothing but bash Golden. I cant stand this POS, he is racist and is only want some **** attention.

The more opportunity he gets to speak, the more transparent his agenda becomes.

Yeah bashing Golden like he did.Mother****er is dead to me.Could care less about this fella.

Yup. Me too. But what's the point of the interview then? If you're going to give the guy a platform, ask the obvious questions. Otherwise you're just building him up and fondling his nuts. A celebrity hype 'interview' does more harm than good, IMO -- particularly because it does no good.

He'll be back to loving the U when it is BCS bowling this year.

Easier to kick a pit bull when it's tied up.

What was wrong with this interview?

You all the type that blows up when a boss writes something bad in a job review?

Write Pete new questions to ask in a second interview.

Thought it was good. Like to hear what everyone says.

Luke is a cane fan. He may be an inner city fan more though. Looking out for his kids. Does he see kid kids through biased glasses. Probably.

Golden needs to be a politician as well as coach.

Now the sfla coaches need to see this as a business not personal. That's on them.

There's no catch 22. If you're going to be a reporter, do your job and at least aks the obvious follow up questions. Saying you tank a few interviews to build credibility so you can aks some tough questions years in the future ... is saying nothing. It's not even a theory. It's an excuse. This site doesn't need to become an extension of Gary Ferman's reporting style.

Seems as if **** is talked about the canes, u want it done behind closed doors. I happen to like sileo's show. Agree with lots he says. Disagree too.

I don't listen to him often though so what is he saying?

Disagree, this isn't 60 Minutes where a case is going to be exposed, the channels of communication need to be opened first. Luke, in my mind back-tracked on his stance a bit and reaffirmed his allegiance while not stepping on the hierarchy's toes; I think that's somewhat of a revelation. He also shed some light on his position at NW something I'd never heard or read.

All in all I think Pete did a good job but it should be cool, from his perspective to read Ethnic's, and grow; don't settle, always question what can be improved upon.

Pete's still opening door which needs to happen before kicking it down. Good start IMO.

Didn't read. Can't trust a word from the mouth of a double-talker let alone a guy who calls radio shows under a different name to rip UM. Fugg that guy and all his nonsense.

I like how he called out Coley and Cristobal at the end. So the whole CFB nations says these guys are SoFla experts but FLuke says they don't know ****. Ok then.

I found that particularly interesting as well... considering that Super Mario has been the head man at FIU, coached at UM, played at UM, played High School here at Christopher Columbus, and was born in Miami. For him to say that Cristobal is not part of the community is fvckin' ridiculous.

Ya'll boys don't understand, that ya'll sound just as ****ing retarded during a meltdown as Sileo and Luke.

Good interview...Luke talks a lot, but he still love The U...his "problem" (if you want to say that) is that he wants EVERYONE in SoFla to go to the U. All he's saying is "hey, you miss out on a guy in SoFla, there is another on to look at!"

Not too dissimilar to what I posted about last week and got tons of reps/likes...Luke just loves to race bait at the same time.

Pete did a good job with this interview.

Would like to see him get Ice and Timmy Jr.

LULZ at Uncle Puke loving the U. He loves the U like a child abuser loves his kids.

What a weak, Barbara Walters -like interview. Peter the fluffer should be his new tag line. You should have called him and presented him with examples of his idiocy. You should have checked him on the Ice is the Don crapola. But since you fall for a fake *** Rick Ross as the real deal you prolly fall for Luke and Ice as real time gangstas.

Pete,DMoney, this is pretty embarrasing for this site IMO. You give time to a douche like Luke but yet you allow him to come across as pro-Al or pro UM. He is pro-Luke and that is all.
I suspect that Pete was on his knees in order to curry favor for insight on next years kids. That is journalism at it's worst and Pete needs to be called out on it.

This is the lamest attempt ever at trying to secure an inside angle. Pathetic.

Ok, Pete is a nice, energetic young man, busting his tail to get some interviews with recruits and other folks. He's not an investigative report. Cut him some slack. Pete is the future - Luke the past.
Luke's just hurt that his boy Randy - allleged distributor from his early bountygate days - was shown the door and Miami, wisely, has disenfranchised Luke from the program. We should be delighted his keys have been taken away.

Me: Do you think what has happened over the last couple weeks with the Booker T. situation is beyond repair? What does the Miami coaching staff need to do to be able to get back into good graces?
Campbell: Nothing is beyond repair. That is going to be repaired through time. You got a guy like Ice, who is like the head guy at the table down here. He’s the Don of this, the older statesman. You just did that to the chairman of the board, so it has to be repaired. The other part of it is communication, which will take a moment, and at the same time they’re going to have to get someone down there that we know.

This is where the BS is buried. He talks about 'you just did that' to Ice. Did WHAT? What did anyone do to Ice?

The whole thing is a set up. Ice is ****ed about Shannon and Luke knows that. No chance he doesn't. So he's covering for Ice here.

If Luke loved UM like he says, he'd call Ice right the **** out. He'd say that dude has an agenda, and is butthurt about **** that has not one ****ing thing to do with how many local kids we take (notice what went on when Ice was at UM), or where DK goes to school (with Shannon, where Ice wanted him all along).

Sorry, Luke played bob and weave and Ariz let him get away with spinning and deflecting on the most important topic covered (and the main reason why the interview even happened).

Exactly. I didn't read the interview with that lout. But your quote sums up the entire disaster that is the fake S Fl mentor. They're all about their own lame egos and constant need for stroking. The nerve of these jerkoffs to refer to themselves as CEOs and talk about how the HC of a major D1 program needs to repair something he didn't break. Theses dudes are completely out of control.

I never criticized Pete for his(miss) predictions because I think it is unfair to hold him accountable for what is going on in the head of a 18 years old young man... and because I think he does a great, tireless and responsible work.

Having said that, I don´t understand why some people are acting like we are bashing/destroying Pete here. I did(and others, too) a constructive criticism about his approach in this interview, and I´m surprised by some of the reactions. I REALLY hope Peter do not think that so early, he already knows everything and close his eyes to any constructive criticism of his work. It´s a great feel to have people always patting your back for everything you do, but this will not help in the construction of a great career, Peter.

In any segment, and open mind(the hard-work Peter already have) will determine how far a professional can go...

It´s up to you which road to take.

Oh please Larry, educate us on how we all should sound?

He regularly trashes Miami on twitter and tried to hold Miami hostage before. He can go **** himself and needs to crawl back into the hole where he came from. You don't "love the U" and act how that attention ***** does. PRetty sad that he fooled you too.
