Great interview! Luke clearly only goes full ****** when he's in repore with another ******(Sileo).

I think he knows he's hurting the U, but as much as he loves the U, he loves attention more and the only way he's capable of staying relevant is by creating controversy.

Me: Do you think what has happened over the last couple weeks with the Booker T. situation is beyond repair? What does the Miami coaching staff need to do to be able to get back into good graces?
Campbell: Nothing is beyond repair. That is going to be repaired through time. You got a guy like Ice, who is like the head guy at the table down here. He’s the Don of this, the older statesman. You just did that to the chairman of the board, so it has to be repaired. The other part of it is communication, which will take a moment, and at the same time they’re going to have to get someone down there that we know.

This is where the BS is buried. He talks about 'you just did that' to Ice. Did WHAT? What did anyone do to Ice?

The whole thing is a set up. Ice is ****ed about Shannon and Luke knows that. No chance he doesn't. So he's covering for Ice here.

If Luke loved UM like he says, he'd call Ice right the **** out. He'd say that dude has an agenda, and is butthurt about **** that has not one ******* thing to do with how many local kids we take (notice what went on when Ice was at UM), or where DK goes to school (with Shannon, where Ice wanted him all along).

Sorry, Luke played bob and weave and Ariz let him get away with spinning and deflecting on the most important topic covered (and the main reason why the interview even happened).

He just told you Ice Harris is the Don of SoFla HS football and the you expect him to turn around call him out in public?

He doesn't love the U. He loves the us to the extent it serves his ego and interests. He loves what the U can be and do for him. But divorced from him, he could care less about it. That's clear.

Okay, so now you're in the spin and deflect group too?

If I'm the reporter asking questions, I don't let him hide the pea on that topic. That's separate from what he'd say if you actually ask the follow up question. "Luke, you just said they 'did that' to Ice. Tell us, in your view, what did they do to Ice that explains his meltdown?"

Beyond that, Luke thinks Luke is the Don of all things football and Dade, so I don't doubt for a second he'd back the U (which he says he loves) over Ice if he didn't share an agenda with Ice.

Third of all, that whole 'he's the Don' thing was part of his act of deflection. It allowed him to avoid having to address anything of substance and make it 100% about feelings. So I don't buy that. How is it that Ice is the 'Don'? Because he had a couple kids go to UM and then got hired by Randy to hang around UM, during which time we ignored half the schools in So Fla?

From this point on, you're in the deflection boat with Ariz. Grab an oar.

your probably right, I can see us succeeding this year and him still continuing to backhand Golden by saying "who brought the QB? who brought Seantrell...." "he just lucky Shannon had been recruiting Duke from before" garbage like that...."white man winning with black mans players...."

No deflection...the question was straight forward.

The rest of your post is filled with your typical arguments that question common sense.

Sorry Pete, I think you do amazing work, have worked your *** off. Really.

But I have to neg you for even giving that clown another outlet to speak. I'll go with what Alonzo says and the real coach Harris say vs what these FOR's (friends of Randy) like luke and Ice feel.

YES 100%

Now you're trolling.

The guy aksing the questions should aks the follow up question that needed to be aksed.

If Puke wanted to keep deflecting, that's on him. But it wouldn't be so easy if he were put on the spot.

Your question is really irrelevant, because the question never got aksed and you're apologizing for his hypothetical answer to the missing question.

Honestly, this dude and Ice just sound salty because there isn't an all black Miami coaching staff full of them and there friends. Honestly, I could care less about this idiot and his racist rhetoric. The comment he made about kids coming in and getting red shirted tells me more than I need to know about his IQ. Kids are tired of sharing the spotlight and i would say about 40% of the kids that have talent in So. Fla either have grade issues or are prima donnas that are worried about making a spectacle of their recruiting process. With little or no interest in being committed to their school work and having a high interest of literally making an *** out of them selves in the social media and on television what makes him think these kids are ready to flip a switch and all come and play together and sit and wait to play as a commitment to the team? It's a different time and for people to say we need to do what we did in the 80's or back in 2001 we... let's be real here Miami has been in trouble for as long as we started winning so basically we have to be dirty to lock down So. Fla and have every kid come here. I love how Al Golden is handling everything with the exception of the Kirkland fiasco. When Coley came in and told Golden that Thomas was playing games and Kirkland was to we should have stop contact with them but not pulled the scholarship because it gave guys like Ice and Luke outlets to trash us. All in all we are getting solid kids all over the nation along with So. Fla that are committed to the team and want to be here I can't ask for anything more.

Luke is just pushing his kids like any other high school coach. The difference is he's got some notoriety and is a semi-celebrity. I don't know what happened at Booker T this year and no one else does either. But its a relationship that needs to be repaired, behind closed doors. The only problem I had with Luke or Ice this year is that they keep running their mouths in public about **** and taking things personally when we make business decisions on how to allocate limited scholarships.

It will be interesting to see what we do with Lockette. If we think he's a legit coach, then bring him in. But doing it for political reasons is short sighted.

dont think anyones expecting deep answers from that ******, but i agree if you have the opportunity to ask him questions that box him in and make it obvious to himself and everyone else that this is baseless. The right questions always bring out the truth

This is going to sound bad, but.......Did anyone really expect Pete to ask those type of questions? I sure didn't. The minute I saw the title of this thread I rolled my eyes.

What's the point of bringing up something that's bad for everyone's business?! I really doubt Luke would air out what happened between Golden and Ice (whether preceived or factual). Also, I'm willing to bet Pete already the truth (or some of it). I'm sure things didnt end perfectly or we wouldn't be talking about this situation days after NSD. Do we really need Luke to give us the "play-by-play"??

There are a few things that are now certain to everyone: 1) These coaches have decided to build a coalition and want to be 'heard'. 2) They feel Ice has been wronged.

#2 should be handled behind closed doors. The last thing anyone needs is FSU, LSU, BAMA, UF, etc to exploit this... or maybe thats already happened! (see '6' )

im sure we wont be rolling our eyes in a year or two. Cool to see this kid get better at what he does. And this forum creates a nice environment of accountability for him, with everyone picking apart what he does he can only improve

Good work P. Ariz appreciate your efforts.

I like what Pete does even though I mentioned to Able a while back that all of his optimism was going to get him roasted when we missed out on guys. With that said, the reason I rolled my eyes was because Pete's just not that type of kid, and I knew the interview wasn't going to be what it needed to be. I don't think that will change a year or two from now either. That's not to dog Pete, but instead to call it like I see it. He's got a certain relationship with guys down there where he's not going to do the type of interview that needed to be done in this situation.

just my .02

This is all you need to know about whats going on in S. Florida. these guys really do think they are the gatekeepers down there. ... smh ridiculous.

Seriously, these coaches are acting like this is the Godfather or Sopranos or something. I can't imagine the headaches Al goes through dealing with these coaches that think the football teams are their kingdoms and Al has to kiss their rings.

And then to start complaining that they didn't recruit Tice? Why isn't he complaining about FSU, UF Alabama, or any school above the caliber of USF not offering Tice? I find it ironic that Luke seems to think Miami owes it to local schools to take kids from them that aren't as good, but that those schools dont even owe it to Miami to at least give them an even playing field with the out of town schools.

Why interview this POS? This dude does nothing but bash Golden. I cant stand this POS, he is racist and is only want some **** attention.
