Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Armondo Blount spoke with the media after Miami's dominant 77-7 performance against the FAMU Rattlers. Check out everything Blount had to say down below:
On the defensive line’s performance: We’re just working on doing our job, going 1-0, everything, being detailed in our work and things like that.
On seeing the younger guys make plays: It’s awesome. It’s very exciting because we were once freshmen ourselves. We had older guys looking at us, encouraging us. I had older guys like Tyler Baron, Rueben, Akheem encourage me. So to get in and Herbert Scroggins get to make a sack, that means everything to me. That still got me pumped up right now to see them play, like all my young guys, because we really watched them work hard in the summer, and they worked for it, so they deserve it.
On the value of young players getting game reps: It all started in GreenTree. If you don’t work on it in GreenTree, you’re not going to play in the game. So all the guys that played on the field today, they earned their spot on GreenTree before they got to the stadium.
On preparing for Wake Forest: You know, we’re going to watch film Friday, clean up some things, work on details, but we don’t really need too much confidence to go.
