Its all in the wording.

Here, try this on for size. If I write “As of this morning, all available indications are that the Miami staff is still feeling optimistic bout about landing at least one of the two cornerbacks.”

I could write that, right, here, right now, and it would be a truthful statement because there are enough qualifiers where I could have honestly gleaned that info just reading message boards.

So it would be accurate “reporting” because I’m basing it on “available indications” ie, resources available to me, which may only be the Internet.

Look for the weasely words or statements. They are free get out of jail cards.

Or... what if... hear me out... he actually has someone on staff telling them they are optimistic as of this morning? Ivins is more connected than everyone in this board except for Dee, and guess what? Dee has said for the past week the staff is optimistic

I have a feeling the leaks have been plugged fairly well.

You’ll always have people that might leak if it involves their self interest, but in terms of recruiting, I’m speculating he he might have some low level sources (people lower in the administrative ladder) but not anyone of any consequence. That’s my opinion generally of pay site reporters.

Why? For several reasons. Chief among them would be this: if I’m in the know working for the AD or Rick, and have been expressly forbidden from discussing recruits, how would it serve my interests to discuss recruiting prospects with a pay site”reporter” What’s in it for me? A lot of people don’t even look at them it’s real journalists, but shills to get paid subscribers.

What’s my upside to give out this info if I really know and I’m on the inside at UM?

I could imagine ivins spoke to a coach or staffer. If asked, I would think a coach would have 2 canned response: 1) no comment 2) were optimistic.

But I agree i don’t see coaches spilling beans.

If he chooses Alabama tomorrow (I don’t see LSU) I’ll have a good laugh over the masterful DSJ troll job, definitely wish he would have signed with us, as well as TC. They are prototypical specimens.

About five seconds later, I’ll be over it, and be thing about rolling with who we have.

Mental health is not a strong suit with a lot of posters on this board. Meltdowns as a way to handle disappointment over something you can’t control anyway falls under the category of children and mental patients.

Watch what happens tomorrow if we only land Nesta and tell me what you see....as someone in the health care profession.

One of my Nole buddies just texted me and said Chris Nee on 247 Nole guy says they are trending ahead for Chatman, and they feel it’s because Miami staff is feeling confident with Nesta Colburn and obviously like the addition of Miller.

The board will burn and it’s pretty pathetic so get that worked up over it. If they come great, if not, oh well move on. No signs have pointed towards either of them coming here for awhile except a few “insiders” vets know not to fall for that stuff.

Prefer White Knight Associates, but you are correct. I support the Jr Sileo by all accounts.

Whether he's right or wrong we shall be enlightened tomorrow. I'll continue to live out the upcoming 22 hours with some semblance of optimism as I entrust the one known as DSJ. at first I was annoyed by the multiple AH threads but I am going to miss the entertainment provided on these threads. It all ends in the next 24 hours.
