As a Tech fan here are some positives.
The fan base is still lively and abundant. I was sitting on the home side and the visitors side looked like a neutral site game. The talent is obvious, just came out flat, this could be on Richt, or the mindset of these guys that were expecting to play for a Natty this year. Perry has enough talent to carry y’all for the next few years, he reminds me of Teddy Bridgewater.

Here are the negatives.

Manny Diaz should have made this simple adjustment. When we line up in the standard flex bone backfield with 2 receivers lined op on the same side of the LOS, the inside receiver is covered, and there was still someone covering him. This is something that would have been changed in a high school defense. Richt should not have stopped running the outside zone. It was obvious early that our LB are way too slow to keep up with any of yalls backs.

The unfortunate

The ball bounced our way more than it did y’all. The punt that hit our guy in the leg was erased by Dallas’ fumble and number 4s inability to field a fair catch. The game got a little chippy, and our right guard was getting involved in extra curricular bs with Finley, I hate to see that, but IIWII.

This game was another classic that is going to keep building this game up as a rivalry for the next few seasons. Best of luck the rest of the way Canes.
I didn't read your response because...well I don't want to.......but why are you on here? Pre-game I kind of get it but not now.

With all do respect, I don’t think any coach on the O side or Special teams side should be untouchable, even if they recruit well or do anything well! We are a dumpster fire and a house cleaning is due! Also it is inexcusable that GT threw 4 passes and those coaches didn’t have the players ready to defend them!
I agree. But we both know Richt's staff changes will be minimal. So its just a matter of narrowing them down. See.. If we're stuck with Jon as a coach, I want him moved to ST. Maybe that's his thing. It would then open up the QB coach position to an offensive coordinator. Only problem is.. We'd still need another opening. I just can't figure out where he'd make it.

this is what i'm afraid of.That BoBo or someone with Richt's same offensive mentality is the guy.

Richt SHOULD NOT have the final say on the OC unless it is run by a few knowledgeable people.

Miami has a TON of people it can rely on to give imput as to who gets hired.I hope they use this vast resource we have and don't give the pastor total say in who gets hired. If he has the final or only say we are totally FCKED and we are D O N E done !!!

Another spot on post. I'm afraid they'll be forced to compromise. If he point blank tells them I'm not firing Jon & I'm only willing to hire an offensive coordinator who I'm comfortable with (meaning they've worked together before) then what? Call me crazy but I have a hard time believing they'd fire him & pay his buyout over that demand. U know? That's how we get stuck with someone who calls the same plays we're running now!

Brown is gone. Need his salary to help cover an OC. New RB corch will make half of what he makes.

Richt Jr. needs to give up his spot. Hartley whatever. Cant coach ST. Searels gone. Only Duggans stays on O.

On D, get one real DB coach, a real LB coach, hope simpson works out, ... *shrug*. Rumph can go. Banda doesnt matter, can go. Patke shouldnt be in a coaching spot in the first place.

But saying all that highlights, it’s the HC who should really go.

if you have to fire that many coaches off of one staff after just 3 years the jackazz that hired them in the 1st place should be driving the kick rocks bus...

There is enough pressure that I expect changes to be made. From what I've heard about the current relationship between boosters and Blake James, I would be surprised if there wasn't an offensive coordinator next year. Money won't be an issue either, boosters have rallied; it's going to be about fit. I couldn't say about one person keeping their job over the other, but the entire offensive staff is on the chopping block with the exception of one position coach.

My personal opinion is that Richt will sacrifice his playcalling to save other's jobs.
Any chance of Yost from Utah State as an OC.. He mentored under Pinkel at Missouri and Mark has ties to Pinkel/Missouri...

Ya'll are forgetting we need a special teams coach also. Hartley should stay on as TE's with more recruiting responsibilities. Patke, Jon, Searles, Brown, Rumph, and Banda could all be gone. None of them would be missed. That leaves plenty of potential open spots for new coaches. Whomever the new OC is will want his guys. It's important to get the right hire with everything he needs. Plus you want Richt to have to relinquish as much responsibility as possible.

I agree with what Stefan posted on all points. What was a promising season has turned into one of the worse seasons ever.

It's safe to say this season is a complete nightmare. It's even worse when you're a Jaguar and Cane fan,

Keep Donk and get rid of the rest.

I'd also keep the kid that "coaches" TE and has been recruiting lights out. Just get him far away from the special teams.

I only care about Canes football...I don’t even have a fallback team.

OUT OUT OUT.

Brown
Can stay as RB coach but if he's making $600K (?) as co-OC he needs to go. Bama RB coach makes $425K.

Dugans
Can stay as WR coach, with same issue with co-OC salary. Bama WR coach makes $525K.

Hartley
Can stay as TE coach, but gives up special teams. Recruiting Coordinator.

Richt Jr
Can stay but demoted to non-coaching position. OC selects new QB coach, or coaches QB himself.

One the defensive side I'd pick between Rumph and Banda as DB coach, or release both and hire a new DB coach. Use the open coaching position for a Special Teams coordinator.

Last paragraph is important. We need a dedicated ST coach. Thus, to make room for an OC and ST coach, we’re gonna need to get rid of two current coaches. Jon Richt and Patke make the most sense to me. We don’t need a coach for one LB position. Pour all available resources into the offense ASAP.

Wait, someone actually said Spicer aimed the punt at a GT player? No, he's just terrible.
Lol yeah the announcer called it a well executed punt. In the game day thread i said no - we actually can't punt.

Patke has to go

I would demote Jr. to a non-coaching position. Simply an compromise to Richt. This removes Jr from the 10 coach limit. I eliminated Rumph or Banda, but could live with both dismissed and replace by a single coach.

This leaves an open spot for a ST coordinator.

Well put.

And yes, cleaning house usually means a new tenant.
