There is enough pressure that I expect changes to be made. From what I've heard about the current relationship between boosters and Blake James, I would be surprised if there wasn't an offensive coordinator next year. Money won't be an issue either, boosters have rallied; it's going to be about fit. I couldn't say about one person keeping their job over the other, but the entire offensive staff is on the chopping block with the exception of one position coach.

My personal opinion is that Richt will sacrifice his playcalling to save other's jobs.

Dugans and Thomas should be safe. Thomas should only coach RBs. Jr, Searels, and MR as OC need to get chit canned. Hartley needs to be relegated to lead recruiter and TEs coach, no more STs....STs have been the worst...EVER!

Brown should fvck off too.

I like Brown's attitude. Only coach on the roster that calls it how he sees it. He is a waste at Co-OC, but dude knows RBs...He is one of the few that actually has some fire in his attitude. I do think we have cancers on the team player-wise. We also have cancers on the corching staff, but Thomas can't comment on that due to his current position.

Stefan, assuming an OC is brought in, how do you think they’ll make it worth with the existing composition of the staff?

Too early to tell realistically. A lot will depend on the specialty of their preferred candidate.

My opinion would be, best case scenario, find a OC/QB coach. Those always seem to work out best. If not, I think OC/RB coach would fit in best with the composition of the current staff.

Wait, someone actually said Spicer aimed the punt at a GT player? No, he's just terrible.

As a Tech fan here are some positives.
The fan base is still lively and abundant. I was sitting on the home side and the visitors side looked like a neutral site game. The talent is obvious, just came out flat, this could be on Richt, or the mindset of these guys that were expecting to play for a Natty this year. Perry has enough talent to carry y’all for the next few years, he reminds me of Teddy Bridgewater.

Here are the negatives.

Manny Diaz should have made this simple adjustment. When we line up in the standard flex bone backfield with 2 receivers lined op on the same side of the LOS, the inside receiver is covered, and there was still someone covering him. This is something that would have been changed in a high school defense. Richt should not have stopped running the outside zone. It was obvious early that our LB are way too slow to keep up with any of yalls backs.

The unfortunate

The ball bounced our way more than it did y’all. The punt that hit our guy in the leg was erased by Dallas’ fumble and number 4s inability to field a fair catch. The game got a little chippy, and our right guard was getting involved in extra curricular bs with Finley, I hate to see that, but IIWII.

This game was another classic that is going to keep building this game up as a rivalry for the next few seasons. Best of luck the rest of the way Canes.

Things are real bad when a GT fan is styling on us.

@Hecht shills and UM fbois, save UM football, Fire Blake, Fire Rix.

I'm gonna say it again in hopes its something that eventually makes its way to the bots.. But we need to hope Bobo doesn't get fired. He's dangerously loyal to Richt. He's called Richt's 30 year old plays. He's known Jon since he was a kid. And he's not the most popular person in Colorado right now.

Bots.. Please don't allow this one to happen.

this is what i'm afraid of.That BoBo or someone with Richt's same offensive mentality is the guy.

Richt SHOULD NOT have the final say on the OC unless it is run by a few knowledgeable people.

Miami has a TON of people it can rely on to give imput as to who gets hired.I hope they use this vast resource we have and don't give the pastor total say in who gets hired. If he has the final or only say we are totally FCKED and we are D O N E done !!!

Zero chance Brown stays on as just RB coach and gives up the OC position but at this point its don't let the door hit you on the way out.

There is a lot of RB talent and not a proportionate amount of production. Not sure if that is b/c of the terrible OL combined with running the same two zone running plays every week but there needs to be MOAR production.

We honestly need to hire whatever local coach is going to get us Chaney and then Daniels for RBs and we need to start a gofundme account if bags are going to be an issue. If the bags are going to be too much then somebody needs to take these guys out partying and snap a bunch of photos with hookers and blow so we can blackmail them if need be. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

There is enough money floating around especially with the ACC network money coming that we should hire Soldinger as an analyst for $150k and have him do all the special teams "coaching" other than gameday and find a retied NFL OL coach to do the same for the OL (after sending Searles to the unemployment line of course).

Let us hope that the one position coach who is the exception is not the elephant.

The big issue is the on field position. There's a limit & we've reached it. For sake of argument lets say Searels is out. I understand that an offensive line coach can also be offensive coordinator. Outside of Richt calling plays, that sounds like the worst possible thing that could happen. Our line is a mess. Its ridiculous to expect someone to come in, salvage our recruiting, fix our line AND our offense.

But outside of Searles, Idk how else he can create an opening. Dugans is too valuable. Hartley is our best recruiter. The elephant is the elephant. Brown.. I'd kinda like to see him replaced with Seider for some reason. But that wouldn't solve the opening problem anyway. Not without demoting the elephant or firing a defensive coach.
With all do respect, I don’t think any coach on the O side or Special teams side should be untouchable, even if they recruit well or do anything well! We are a dumpster fire and a house cleaning is due! Also it is inexcusable that GT threw 4 passes and those coaches didn’t have the players ready to defend them!

Richt will never do this because he's a stubborn douchebag but go young...

QB Perry - Williams
RB Davis - Burns
FB George
WR Thomas - Harley
WR Hightower - Ezzard
WR Wiggins - Pope
TE Jordan - Mallory
LT Scaife
LG Hillery
C Gaynor
RG Reed
RT Campbell

I come in peace, as a fan of another underachieving program, I know how hard it is. I’m a football fan, didn’t think anything I said was malicious. I’m not “styling” on anybody, just posted some observations from the game.

Searles
OUT OUT OUT.

Brown
Can stay as RB coach but if he's making $600K (?) as co-OC he needs to go. Bama RB coach makes $425K.

Dugans
Can stay as WR coach, with same issue with co-OC salary. Bama WR coach makes $525K.

Hartley
Can stay as TE coach, but gives up special teams. Recruiting Coordinator.

Richt Jr
Can stay but demoted to non-coaching position. OC selects new QB coach, or coaches QB himself.

One the defensive side I'd pick between Rumph and Banda as DB coach, or release both and hire a new DB coach. Use the open coaching position for a Special Teams coordinator.

ID like to see brown gone. His unit plays solid. We thought he was a good recruiter but we have no running back commits????? Yes you read that right. And also he throws his kids under the bus. Hate that. He’s wannabe tough guy without the results to back it up. Sorry
I wouldn't mind him being an rb coach only. He's not an oc and he's making way too much money to be a glorified rb coach. I also agree that his interviews definitely **** me off. He throws the kids under the bus and is even more boring than Richt somehow.

Not a big fan of the coaching staff & changes are due, but a few of your observations are off the mark. Maybe it's just the pent up frustration. I get that.

*****ing about a sense of 4th quarter urgency in this game is a bit off. Most games, yeah. But Miami had ONE possession in the 4th quarter. I'm as [issed as anyone about the delay in getting plays off, but to repeat - they had ONE offensive possession in the 4th quarter. It was touch-and-go and hardly a thing of beauty, but believe they managed to go 95 yards, 15 plays and used up 4:33 off the clock. GT defense, which also has scholarship players and paid coaches, obviously wasn't giving them anything down the field.
Miami couldn't get stops on defense, but that has nothing to do with playing with a sense of urgency. That's the way GT plays - ground game & deception, run the clock down (especially with a late lead), limit the other team's offensive possessions.

Piling on the Miami offense for being held to just under 300 yards also misses the mark. There are games for serious finger pointing, but again not sure this is one.
Hard to do much offensively when you only run 53 plays. If not mistaken, Miami had 3 offensive possessions in the second half - 2 in the 3rd QT and 1 in the 4th. They had the 4th QT TD drive and 9 offensive plays in the 3rd QT.
That happens when you put the ball on the ground an GT grinds out drives.

The majority of these grades are the product of season-long frustration. Got it.

Bottom line is real simple, Miami lost because special teams continue to be ******, OL jumpy at inopportune times, Willis jumped off sides to help sustain a GT drive & Bandy got caught looking in the backfield, got twisted around like a top and couldn't find the ball.

And yeah, Miami pretty much gave GT 17 points.

Dallas fumbles a kickoff at the Miami 23.

Perry fumbles a snap at the Miami 39.

Thomas fumbles a punt at the Miami 10.

Not sure where the blame goes, but that's the game.

Brown is gone. Need his salary to help cover an OC. New RB corch will make half of what he makes.

Richt Jr. needs to give up his spot. Hartley whatever. Cant coach ST. Searels gone. Only Duggans stays on O.

On D, get one real DB coach, a real LB coach, hope simpson works out, ... *shrug*. Rumph can go. Banda doesnt matter, can go. Patke shouldnt be in a coaching spot in the first place.

But saying all that highlights, it’s the HC who should really go.

I didn't read your response because...well I don't want to.......but why are you on here? Pre-game I kind of get it but not now.
