Good catch.
i just looked at that list again

carlos joseph was 2nd team all big east in his first year as a starter..........kyle cobia when he wasnt hurt was a solid FB

I added Joseph although he was a disappointment. Cobia couldn't stay on the field.
a disappointment is different than being a contributor

the real disappointment for me was walker

dude was a stud in HS......and was a ST star early on

but then he couldnt stay healthy

that kid could have been as good as dj and vilma

Could be wrong, but thought Walker's problem was like CJ, could not gain the weight needed for every down lb.

The problem with Walker was he was a classic tweener.

He was a big hitter, but he didn't have the hips to be a S. His pass covering skills were deficient.

And he was too small to be an effective LB.

Dude did have a very impressive HS highlight video though.

Great special teams player as well. I remember him hamming it up with Corso after the Rose Bowl.

This kind of stuff is as good as it gets on message boards. Awesome info! Thank you.

I played with Darrell McClover in high school... he was big an fast, he was the left side DE and I was the right side DE... wish I was the size I am now cause back then I was 6-4 195lbs... now 300lbs... QB Derrick Grudup beat us twice our senior year and put us out of the playoffs... I had some good times and wish I could have done it over... my dream would have been a Cane but I didn't have the support...

Wilfork is a freak of nature, so big, yet quick.

d-money didn't mcgahee tear an acl in high school too? even though he ripped uf a new one, i was a fan of his, he was adrian peterson before peterson. just makes you realize what a freak he was to still produce even despite the injuries.

Lots of whiffs, even for a great class and a great recruiter. But what stands out is the lines. That is an absolutely stellar class on both sides.

I think getting DJ Williams to commit was the happiest I've ever been re: recruiting, and I can't imagine another player coming along to equal it. He was a clear #1 hs player in the country, one of the few that have ever been mentioned as possibly going straight to the NFL - it wouldn't have worked, but he was better qualified to try than most kids - and was coming from DLS when they were at their peak as a program. Kyle Wright was an exciting commit, Seantrel, too. Thank god his dog liked it in Coral Gables.

Me too.

I was in DC at college, following Canes info online at Grassy, which I discovered that year and which helped me and my roomates stay informed on UM which was important because we were all Canes fans from Miami.

This class made me feel like we were recovering a lost part of our Miami pride because the canes were about to be back. Great thread thanks Dmoney

first and foremost- this is a treat for all of us- sick work- THANKS.

Out of all these studs VILMA was my favorite. This is the first time I see his HS tape. OMG he stuck everyone as hard as he did in college (never forget the championship game where he laid out a few guys)!

Somebody bumped one of these old ones, so I figured I’d bring them all back.

Good high school footage of some of Butch’s best classes.
