As fans wait out the weather delay at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Hurricanes basketball team is in the building, and so is one of the nation’s top recruits. Five-star small forward Caleb Gaskins is visiting Miami this weekend and was spotted at Hard Rock to watch the Canes take on USF.

This marks Gaskins’ first official visit, and Miami is hoping to set the tone early in his recruitment. With the Hurricanes getting the first crack, the program has a chance to build momentum and get ahead of other schools.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Christopher Columbus High in Miami is ranked No. 12 nationally in the Class of 2026, No. 3 among power forwards, and the No. 1 player in Florida, according to 247Sports. He’s already drawn heavy interest from across the country, with official visits lined up at Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.

Gaskins has been on the Hurricanes’ radar for a long time, and the ties to the area give UM a real shot at landing him.

A photo of Gaskins at the game even made the rounds on social media, showing him around the team with guard Tre Donaldson in the background, a sign that Miami is rolling out the red carpet.
