Well that's an interesting development.

Brown is pretty picky too, so he's not going to throw an offer out there just to do it.

Hearing that this kid reached out made me have an unfamiliar sensation beneath my waistline. Even if he doesn’t come here, this level of interest is great to have from a top 10 player in the other side of the country

😂 😂 Man our fans are the best!

Hard pass. 210 ? I bet his body fat percentage isn't even in the teens.

I can’t wait for the first “ he’ll be 240-250 after a year in the s&c program, lb or de is definitely a possibility “ post.

Or has that been posted ? I haven’t read the entire thread.

I love his film and would love to have him. He reached out so that’s a nice start. I trust our coaches. We will do the right thing. 🙌🏿

A 5* reaches out to us?!?! That sounds crazy within itself lol. Hopefully the staff gets him in and make a helluva sales pitch...Get this fella on board ASAP!!

Him with Chaney??! Wowowow.

Nasty and quick between the tackles. 40 time, Brock?

I'll save you the time.

We're converting him to DT, he's too short to play TE.

Lets gooo! Get me as many athletes as possible & let the chips fall as they may.

This kid reminds me of Clinton Portis and Lamar Miller. He has good speed and quickness. Sounds like he is a lock to Miami

This board has extreme porsters, as Dee said “he not coming type” and then we get the other end “he a lock”.

Sheeze

When is the last time a player of this caliber reached out to Miami to ask for an offer? We used to have to beg these kids to even visit.

**** if feels good to have a legit coaching staff again.

Brown is a total animal as an RB coach, too. He's develops kids like Kul did, but also genuinely likes and connects with them as recruits and players. I am in awe with how he's rebuilding our RB depth.

Always great to have good recruits recruiting you.

I just hope he doesn't pull a "McFarland", who always wanted to stay home in MD/D.C. area but loved getting a Miami offer to add to his collection.
Anthony McFarland commits to Maryland

Anyway, its always worth a shot. We've got nothing to lose.

Kellen Winslow Jr. & DJ Williams were both HUGE national ALL Stars who recruited us and ended up coming and being Cane stars.

So we'll see how it plays out

Seriously have to question the memories of some of our "fans".

McFarland wasn't just collecting a UM offer. While he may have flaked out at the last moment, he was a Miami commit that was serious about coming to Miami, even though he had a completely commitable offer from Maryland. If not for the last minute "kidnapping" by the entire Maryland coaching staff, he would have been fine with coming to Miami, no matter what he says about how much he loved his hometown after the flip. I will forever be angry with McFarland for how he dealt with Miami, but there is no doubt that he was serious about Miami and was not merely using our offer to get other offers.

Kellen Winslow II did not "recruit Miami". He was firmly committed to another program, but his father wisely chose to block KWII from signing with that program over their lack of having black coaches on the coaching staff.

And DJ Williams was a consensus Top 5 national recruit, some even considered him the top overall recruit. He didn't need to "recruit Miami". By that point, Butch had become a very good recruiter (in addition to being a top identifier of talent) and all we needed was the mutual interest to be all over DJ Williams.

There are other football and basketball recruits who have had to contact Miami in order to express interest and to get an offer, but those three were not in that bunch.

With all that being said, I still think that Miami should be doing more to COMMUNICATE to the top 250 players each year. We have a coach who has coached in the SEC and who has a nationally-known name. There is no reason why we should not be gauging the interest level of all of the top non-Florida players, rather than finding out that a kid likes us long after he has been named a 5-star recruit.

2020 is a long way off.

I've been around long enough not to call ANYONE a lock so far down the road based on his interests today.

That being said, we should definitely go after ANY star that is interested in us and does his interest excite me? **** YES!!
