Kid is from the Fresno area where i went to college kid is not coming to miami.

Just watched his film on YouTube.

You rarely see a kid run between the tackles at the high school level as much as this kid. He never bounces it outside until he reaches the 2nd level. Looks like the kind of guy Richt would love to run his power offense. Looks like a load to bring down.

Kinda looks like a Bama running back. 6’2, 210 per 247.

OL looked like it had a few road graders. They opened up some nice lanes, for the mostly part.

Mark wants to pound the rock. Kid looks like just the right type.

Kid has tremendous film. Really like his patience, and vision. And getting out of Fresno is a no brainer. There's a reason locals call it Fresneck.

I don't see this Barkley comparison at all. Barkley runs like a bigger Shady McCoy. He bounces everything outside, tries to juke around defenders and struggles to convert speed to power and gain tough yards running inside. Milton is a decisive downhill runner with plus lateral agility and excellent contact balance. He's pretty much the opposite of Barkley in many ways. The only similarity is they're both elite athletes.

No I don't see those things with Barkley at all...Maybe at times a SLIGHT tendency to dance too much... but when your that big and got those feet, hard not to show em off. And it's really nitpicking to even call it a tendency.

Have you broken down cut-ups of his film or just watched live games and/or highlights? I've done the former for several of his games and it's very apparent. He's not a powerful runner and he almost always runs from color. There are full games where he pretty much refuses to hit the hole and gain tough yards inside. There are tons of people in the online draft community who have said the same so I'm not in the minority here.

The RB in this draft who is most similar to Milton is Ronald Jones but Milton is already bigger so yeah he's special.

.

If there were "tons" I doubt he goes as high as he did...Esp with a lot of teams looking for reasons to wait to take a RB nowadays.

The one thing I don't like about Barkley is a little excessive dancing and that ugly spin move he does in traffic for no reason. I just don't think it's anywhere near the cause for concern you are making it out to be. No biggie though. Thanks for the observation.

A 5* reaches out to us?!?! That sounds crazy within itself lol. Hopefully the staff gets him in and make a helluva sales pitch...Get this fella on board ASAP!!
Kevin Williams did in the '80's as I recall. A first team USAToday A-A. He ended up a pretty good WR/KR for us.

Took me a moment to realize you were implying that Diaz will steal him as a DB, not that you felt Diaz would turn him off to Miami.
I see a LB

Seriously have to question the memories of some of our "fans".

McFarland wasn't just collecting a UM offer. While he may have flaked out at the last moment, he was a Miami commit that was serious about coming to Miami, even though he had a completely commitable offer from Maryland. If not for the last minute "kidnapping" by the entire Maryland coaching staff, he would have been fine with coming to Miami, no matter what he says about how much he loved his hometown after the flip. I will forever be angry with McFarland for how he dealt with Miami, but there is no doubt that he was serious about Miami and was not merely using our offer to get other offers.

Kellen Winslow II did not "recruit Miami". He was firmly committed to another program, but his father wisely chose to block KWII from signing with that program over their lack of having black coaches on the coaching staff.

And DJ Williams was a consensus Top 5 national recruit, some even considered him the top overall recruit. He didn't need to "recruit Miami". By that point, Butch had become a very good recruiter (in addition to being a top identifier of talent) and all we needed was the mutual interest to be all over DJ Williams.

There are other football and basketball recruits who have had to contact Miami in order to express interest and to get an offer, but those three were not in that bunch.

With all that being said, I still think that Miami should be doing more to COMMUNICATE to the top 250 players each year. We have a coach who has coached in the SEC and who has a nationally-known name. There is no reason why we should not be gauging the interest level of all of the top non-Florida players, rather than finding out that a kid likes us long after he has been named a 5-star recruit.

We obviously have different information sources and opinions on the facts, I trust and believe mine. Not just the Miami news accounts.

McFarland always had Maryland at the top of his list. He was a person that was very susceptible to being influenced, almost committing to Bama, OSU etc on visits. But home according to him and his family was always his goal, even though someone of his family attended Miami. We got all overexcited after he visited us and recruited him non-stop. In the end, It was his & his family's choice to be isolated from us, they just applied as much pressure as we did. He was never really comfortable coming here. If your version makes you feel better have at it.

Not wrong about KWII and DJW either. Sure they were national recruits. In those days we sent out blankets of offers to candidates. But we didn't have any idea that those two themselves truly had any serious interest in us until they both themselves expressed their serious interest to Coach Davis shortly before NSD. That's what I mean by recruited us.

We simply just disagree

I love all these negs on the positive posts. I see the Negative Nancies on this board raining on people's parade. Maybe you guys should speak up and air why you don't think this article is good news.
